Loving The Best Friend (Marcus Butler)

Chapter One

A/N - Hey guys and welcome to Chapter One. Hannah's outfits ^^^^^

——- Hannah's P.O.V ——-

I wonder if I'm meeting up with Marcus today. Usually we try to meet up at least 4-5 times a week because we always have such a laugh together but then again if Niomi has her way we wouldn't even see each other once a week. For god's sake Marcus is a grown man and he can see who he wants. Especially me; I have known him longer than she has, I know him better than she does and then she tries to stop us from seeing each other. Jesus Christ, she's like an over protective mother and Marcus knows it.

I wake up when I hear my phone go off telling me that I have a text, I grab my phone off the nightstand and squint my eyes at first because of the brightness of the screen. I go onto the text and see that it is from Marcus 'Morning Hanni. I'm going 'round to Felix's place today. You up for coming? Plus sorry for waking you up ~ Marky xxx' I smile and type a reply 'I would love to come. You did wake me up but I forgive you. What time are you picking me up? ~ Hanni xxx' I press send and stretch out a little then within a matter of seconds Marcus has replied 'I will pick you up in one hour so get your pretty little self changed ~ Marky xxx' I roll my eyes at his comment although it made my heart flutter a little.

I throw my phone down on the bed and go into the bathroom. I brush my teeth and then have a shower. After showering I get changed into ripped light blue jeans that are slightly turned up at the ankles, a black peplum top with some parts of white on it, a light cropped denim jacket, black converse and a black cross body bag. Once I'm ready I realise that Marcus should be waiting now so I put my phone in my pocket, grab my bag and walk out of my apartment to Marcus' car. I get in the passenger side and toss my bag onto the backseat before facing Marcus "Make yourself at home clearly" he says sarcastically and I roll my eyes as I pull my seatbelt on "Well yeah. Obviously" I say and he hands me a Starbucks "You got me my favourite" I say smiling at him "Yes, yes I did" he says starting to drive over to Felix's house.

After about a 20 minute drive we get to Felix's house, there was such bad traffic the drive should only take 5 minutes. I get my bag from the back seat and climb out of the car, joining Marcus at the front door. As soon as I ring the doorbell we hear the frantic barking of dogs, Felix appears at the door whilst attempting to keep Maya and Edgar back "Hey guys. Come in" he says and we both walk in "Where's Marzia?" I ask sitting down on the couch "She's in Italy visiting family. She usually takes Maya with her and I go but now we have Edgar I decided to stay so she left Maya here" Felix says sitting down next to me and slinging his arm around my shoulder "How are you coping without your lady around?" Marcus asks jokingly after he sits down on one of the chairs "I am coping just fine. It's weird without her but she will be back soon" Felix says.

All of a sudden the door bell rings again sending both pugs into a barking frenzy "I've got it" Felix says standing up and walking to the door. Maya jumps up onto my lap and I start stroking her whilst talking to Marcus "We still on for Thursday?" I ask and he nods "Yeah. We're going up to London to see Jack and Finn right?" he asks and I nod smiling "We are. We haven't seen them in ages and they invited us but not you know who" I say referring to Niomi and Marcus chuckles "I know. I'm not surprised to be honest" he says and I giggle.

Felix comes back but now he has Niomi with him. What is Niomi doing here? "Uh, hi Niomi" Marcus says as she stands in front of him "Anyway Hannah. What time are we leaving?" Marcus asks moving Niomi gently out of the way but before I have chance to answer Niomi moves right back in front of him "Your girlfriend is here. You could at least talk to her" she says and I look to Felix nervously "I would but I am talking to Hannah" he says and Niomi scoffs "I don't care you should be talking to me" she says. I hate it when they argue, they get heated so quickly and an angry Marcus isn't a Marcus that I want to be around even though I know he would never do anything to me it still freaks me out a little and he knows that.

I stand up and walk into the kitchen, Felix understands why I've done this because I have told him about their arguments and he has witnessed them. Just as I lean against the counter Marcus walks in "Shouldn't you be out there with her" I say and he shakes his head "I am fed up of the arguments plus I know how they make you feel" he says standing next to me "Can I have a hug?" I ask opening my arms and he chuckles "For you? Always" he says pulling me into him and my arms wrap around his waist as his go around my neck "OH COME ON" I hear Niomi shout causing myself and Marcus to pull apart "I AM YOUR GIRLFRIEND MARCUS. DO NOT HUG HER LIKE THAT" she shouts making me flinch and Marcus glances over to me with concern "YOU CAN'T KEEP DICTATING WHAT I DO NIOMI. THAT ISN'T HOW A RELATIONSHIP WORKS" he shouts and I slowly back up into the corner of the kitchen.

Niomi crosses her arms and glares at Marcus "I AM DONE. YOU NEED TO CHOOSE. IT'S ME YOU GIRLFRIEND YOU HAVE BEEN WITH FOR 6 YEARS OR IT IS HER WHO IS OUT TO GET ME" she shouts pointing at me. No way. She just told Marcus to choose between her and me. He will so choose her, he loves her and he should be with her. "Hannah" Marcus says snapping me out of my thoughts "What?" Niomi asks with venom dripping from her voice "You heard me. I. Choose. Hannah" Marcus says slowly making sure Niomi understands "You have got to be kidding me. You're choosing her? I have been with you for 6 years and throughout that she has been out to get me" Niomi says and I cautiously walk over to Marcus "I have been friends no best friends with Hannah for 15 years. That's over half of my life. Hannah has been nothing but supportive so if you would be so kind as to leave because we are no longer in a relationship" he says pulling me behind him. I hear the door slam which must mean that Niomi has left.

Marcus turns around to face me and smiles slightly "Do you want to come back to mine?" he asks and I nod "Sure. At least she won't be there to constantly make comments about me" I say and he smiles a proper smile this time "Then let's go" he says slipping an arm around my shoulder as we say goodbye to Felix and leave his house.

I just don't understand. Why did Marcus choose me? He loves Niomi or is it loved Niomi? I have no idea. I need to ask him about this.
