Chapter Two

——- Hannah's P.O.V ——-

We've just got to Marcus' place and the whole car ride I was going through the possibilities of why Marcus chose me in my head. It is so confusing because he had been in a relationship with Niomi for so long and now he has basically flushed all of that down the toilet for me? Why? I don't get it at all. As much as I didn't like Niomi and as much as it hurt for me to see them together Marcus was happy with her and I don't want to be the friend that stands in the way of him being happy.

I'm brought out of my thoughts by Marcus placing his hand on my thigh "You okay? You haven't spoken the whole way back" he says and I nod "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine" I say and he nods still looking a little unsure. We both get out of the car and go up to his apartment. As soon as we get in I throw my jacket and bag down by the door and go straight to the sofa which I lay down on causing Marcus to chuckle "I swear this place is your second home" he says sitting down and placing my head in his lap "Well it should be. I'm here most of the time" I say and he nods.

I start playing with my hands which is something I do when I'm nervous "Marky?" I ask and he hums in response "Why did you choose me over Niomi? If you want to be with Niomi but are worried about leaving me out in the cold don't worry because I will be fine" I say, well the last part was a lie I would not be fine without him it would practically kill me inside. When he doesn't say anything I stand up and walk towards the door, I grab my jacket and bag before opening the door and leaving his flat. I might as well just leave now because he won't say anything to hurt my feelings therefore he won't be with Niomi if he feels like it will hurt me in the end.

A hand grasping my wrist stops me, I turn around to face Marcus who looks upset "Just come back in and let me explain" he says and I shake my head "No Marcus. If I do that you won't get back with Niomi and you need to be with Niomi because she makes you happy" I say struggling against his grip "Hannah Destiny Parker. Get back inside the apartment and let me explain myself" Marcus says using my full name, we only ever do that to each other when we want to make a point "Let go of my wrist then" I say shaking off his grip and walking back into his flat. I don't want to talk about this, I know I asked but still if Niomi makes him happy then he should be with her.

I sit back down on the sofa and Marcus sits next to me "You really want me to explain?" he asks and I roll my eyes "No Marcus. I just thought I would come in here to sleep" I say sarcastically and he sighs "Look. I chose Niomi over you because I am not in love with Niomi anymore. At one point I was but for the past 2 years or so I have not been in love with her; that has been lost. I didn't want to be with her anymore, I was planning on breaking up with her but she did it for herself. The fact is I have fallen for another girl, for roughly the past 2 years I have been in love with this other girl and she has taken the place that Niomi used to have" he says and my heart drops. There's another girl? What are the chances that she will hate my guts too, I mean come on. There is a slight bit of hope that it could be me but honestly? It will not be me.

I look down taking a deep breath and looking back up at Marcus "Who is this girl?" I ask but he stays quiet "Come on" I say shoving him lightly "I want to know the girl who has stolen your heart" I say trying to be strong for him. I don't want him to know that I don't want him dating this girl; I can't bear to see him with another girl. Before I have a chance to ask him again I feel lips pressing against mine, it's Marcus! Marcus is kissing me! What the hell? I kiss back but when he pulls away I am left well and truly confused "What was that for?" I ask and Marcus sighs "You are the one that stole my heart Hannah. I would ask you to give it back but I don't want you to. I just want to steal yours" he says almost on the brink of tears "What if you already have?" I ask with my voice no more than a whisper.

Marcus' eyes go wide so I know he heard me "Are you being serious?" he asks matching my earlier tone and I nod "You stole it before you dated Niomi. You've had it for such a long time. I was starting to give up. I just supported you because I wanted you to be happy" I say and he moves closer to me "But you dated Matt, I don't understand" he says and I shrug "When I started dating Matt you had been with Niomi for 6 months. Matt was me trying to move on but it didn't work. When we broke up and he moved away I realised I was still in love with you" I say and Marcus nods "I am asking you something then" he says and I raise my eyebrows causing him to chuckle "Hannah. We have basically just confessed our feelings for each other so this question is a given. Will you be my girlfriend?" he asks and I nod unable to form any words.

Marcus immediately pulls me into a rough yet gentle kiss and we both smile into the kiss "I can't even tell you how happy it makes me to call you mine" he says letting me snuggle into his side "I thought I was going to have to put up with another one of your girlfriends that was bound to hate my guts" I say and he chuckles "I just want to say something" I say pulling away from him for a moment "Go for it" he says smiling at me "Are you sure about this? Us? I want you to be happy and completely 100% about your decision" I say slightly insecure that he might still want to be with Niomi "Hannah I am completely 110% confident about this. I can assure you that I have never been happier" he says pulling me back into his side.

This is how it should be. I am finally with Marcus. I never thought that this was going to happen today I can tell you that.
