Chapter Twenty-One

----- Hannah's P.O.V -----

Marcus seems kind of chilled out. I am glad he's chilled out because he is meeting my eldest brother and his girlfriend who I haven't met before either. Adam is protective of me so I have no idea how he is going to react to me being in a relationship, better than my parents I hope. Adam never liked Matt, Brayden never liked Matt so the only people that actually liked Matt were my own parents. I really did think I loved him but I realised that I never did. It may sound harsh to say that but I just know Matt was never the guy I wanted to stay with even if it made my parents happy, I didn't want to stay with him.

At the moment we are on our way to meet my brother. We're meeting him on the beach, it isn't that cold today, it's actually pretty warm so I suggested to my brother that we go to the beach. For him living in Manchester, I think he misses the beach, the quaint little seaside town vibe that you get from Brighton. I know my siblings love Brighton as much as I do but they made the decision to move to their own homes but I know that to them Brighton will always be where they grew up and we all have amazing memories here that we made together and that's what all of us cherish.

We pull up at the car park by the beach. Marcus and I get out of the car and almost immediately I notice my brother sitting on the beach with his arm around a girl, I am presuming that's Bella as she has brown hair that is a similar length to mine and that's how Adam has described her to me. I point them out to Marcus and he nods "Should I be nervous?" he asks putting his arm around my shoulder and I put mine around his waist "I don't think so, no" I say and he rolls his eyes "Of course you would say that" he says and I giggle "Yes, I would. That is because he is my brother, my brother who would never hurt a fly" I say and he laughs slightly nervously "What about a fly that's sleeping with his little sister" he says and I blush "Okay. Let's not bring up the fact that we're sleeping with each other too" I say and he nods squeezing my shoulder.

We reach my brother and Bella. I clear my throat and Adam turns around "My little sissy is beautiful" he says standing up and I smile "Thanks Ade" I say and he hugs me before directing his attention to Marcus "Marcus Butler. Hannah's best friend since she was young and now her boyfriend. Interesting" Adam says and Marcus nods "That would be me. It's great to meet you, Hannah talks very highly of you" he says holding out his hand and Adam shakes it "Oh she better" he says and I stick my tongue out at him "Sibling rivalry is definitely interesting" Marcus says and Adam nods "When you're the eldest you automatically become a babysitter plus the really annoying old one that's always telling you what to do" he says and I nod "Yep. The rivalry between the twins and the older brother stemmed from him always being in charge of me and Brayden" I say.

Adam turns to his girlfriend and pulls her up by her hand "Hanni, this is Bella my girlfriend" Adam says and my mouth drops "No way. Bella Free, the girl who lived next door to us for all of mine and Brayden's childhood" I say and she nods "That would be me. I also went to college with your brother" she says and Marcus looks so confused "Wait, have you been dating Bella since college?" he asks and Adam nods "Yeah I have. I never told my parents because they would have never approved. I told Hannah and Brayden. Brayden met Bella a while ago but because Hannah has been in Brighton and she has been really busy with travelling I haven't had chance to introduce Bella" Adam explains.

Bella smiles at me "You really have grown up" she says and I smile "Thank you" I say and she hugs me causing me to smile "Have you heard from Mum or Dad?" I ask and Adam shakes his head "You know they disowned me right" I say and his face drops "They what?" he asks clearing in disbelief. All of us sit down on the beach, Marcus and I facing Adam and Belle who are sitting with their backs to the sea "Mum and Dad didn't approve of my relationship with Marcus. They thought he wasn't good enough for me, they never liked him when we were friends and they wanted me to get back together with Matt" I say.

Adam continues to shake his head "That's low. But if it makes you feel any better" he says pausing to wrap his arm around Bella's shoulder whilst I am already sitting in-between Marcus' legs and leaning against his chest "Bella and I stopped by at Mum and Dad's place on our way down from Manchester. They remembered Bella but only referred to her as the 'neighbour's kid' which annoyed me. They told me that I needed to break up with her within a month as they are setting me up with a daughter of one of Dad's business partners to further his business contacts" he says and I nod, waiting for him to continue "They told me they had given me time to be the wild child, they have given me time to be free for a while but now they want me to move to Solihull and be with this girl" he says.

I look to Bella who looks hurt and I smile at her "Obviously I said no. I said that I love Bella and I have been with her for such a long time. I am not leaving her for anything. Because of that they said that they don't want to see me again, they don't want to have anything to do with me. They have disowned me" he says and I scoff "That is pathetic. The only person they approve of is Lydia but I know they don't want Lydia to get pregnant even though they both want a family so bad" I say and Adam nods in agreement.

Adam sighs "I think if Lyd gets pregnant, when Lyd gets pregnant, Mum and Dad are going to go ballistic. They don't want Brayden to have his own family for some reason, when they know that both of us want nothing more than for Brayden to be happy" he says and Marcus rubs my stomach lightly with his thumb "Adam, both you and I know that having a family is a priority for Brayden. He loves both of us to death, he loves Lydia to death. He has told me that when he has a family he wants us to be involved with them but he doesn't want Mum and Dad. I think that says something about the way they have been to not only me but to you and to him" I say.

I think it goes without saying that my parents are not parents of the year.
