15- Piece of Heaven

"Jimmy, what the hell is this shit?" Nova's eyes went wide as she was looking at a piece of paper with some words.

He walked over to her and looked at it then chuckled, "It's a song I wrote."

She shook her head as she clicked her tongue, "You have a sick mind my friend. I mean do you think fans might like this? A song about necrophilia, really?" She couldn't help but laugh about it.

He laughed with her as he shrugged, "I'm sure there's some that might not like it but we're doing it for the ones who would love it because we made it and they love us."

"Well you know what I have to say? Is you are fucking nuts, I love that about you. I still remember that day in school when you tried so hard to get everyone to laugh with you but ended up in a fight with Brian. It's amusing how you guys are best friends now. How'd that happen?"

Jimmy didn't get to answer because Brian piped up, "As we were sitting in detention, Jimmy kept boasting about how good he was on the drums so I invited him to my house over to prove it. And he blew me away." He patted Jimmy's shoulder.

"He blew you huh." Nova winked joking.

"Oh God no! Not like that you sicko!" Brian laughed as he shuddered as they all laughed.

"So anyways, are you guys going to do this song on this album?" She held up the paper.

Jimmy shook his head, "Probably not, we already have a line-up of songs we are doing." She handed him the paper so he took it.

"Ah okay."

"Hey look who finally made it." Zack smirked seeing Matt and Val walked into the studio.

"Yeah, traffic was horrible. Apparently there was a bad wreck on the highway so we ended up having to take a detour." Matt explained.

"At least you made it." Johnny chuckled.

They then got down to business of working on the album.

"So why is there cameras?" Nova asked Zack as they listened to Brian record his guitar tracks.

"Just to have memories of us working on songs together. Who knows maybe someday we'll post them for our fans to see." Zack smiled at her.

"Makes sense, you guys have really changed the style though. I don't mean that in a bad way, I just noticed Matt doesn't do his roars like the other albums."

"That's because I realized well found out I was doing it wrong pretty much. I ended up having throat surgery last year because of it, and had to see a vocal coach."

"Well thank the gods that you are better and can still carry on singing."

"Yes." They all praised.

As Matt was singing Bat Country, Nova smiled and softly sung along.

"Too many Doses and I'm starting to get an erection." She sung.

"It's attraction." Brian corrected her.

"Huh?"

"The line is too many doses and I'm starting to get an attraction."

"And?" She giggled, "I know that, I'm being silly and decided to sing erection instead of attraction." She then sung the line again. 

"Whose getting an erection?" Zack walked in.

"Apparently your girlfriend here. She is singing Bat Country and decided to sing it her way, using erection instead of attraction." Brian smirked.

"And that's a problem for you?" Nova smirked back while crossing her arms.

"No, not really. People do it all the time, make up their own lyrics to songs, like Weird AL Yankovic. He does it all the time." Jimmy smiled.

"That man is so weird I'm telling you." She shook her head.

"Will I mean that's why he has the stage name he does." Jimmy smirked.

After they were done at the studio they decided to have a few drinks at Johnny's Saloon. While they were there they also decided to shoot some pool.

Smiling, Nova stood between Zack's legs, as he was sitting on a stool, and leaned her back against him. He smiles wrapping his arms around her waist and laid his chin on her shoulder.

"I swear you guys are so adorable together." Michelle gushed at them.

"Thanks." She blushed. "He's the adorable one though." She giggled and pinched his cheek playfully.

"Oh God." Zack chuckled.

"Picture time!" Before they could protest Val snapped a picture of them.

"You know, he talked about you a lot." Michelle spoke softly when Zack stepped up to take his turn at the pool table.

"He did?" Nova raised her eyebrows as she sat on the stool.

"He did." She nods, "How you are amazing and he has so much respect for you, for standing up against your..." She lightly shook her head not wanting to say it, "That you are one of the bravest people he knows."

"I just, it surprises me that he didn't give up on me you know? That he didn't move on from what we had. He had every right to. And the other day this Gena girl kept calling his phone, I thought for sure he had. That she was his new girlfriend. He swore she wasn't and I didn't believe him. I feel bad now for not believing him."

"So how come you believe him now then?"

"This is going to sound stupid. But uh I had made him leave, he stormed out leaving his phone behind. After she called yet again I answered it, she set things straight with me."

"She's a cool girl. She does the guys hair for shows and when they do promotional stuff."

"What you girls talking about?" Zack walked back over.

"Was you, now it's Gena." Michelle told him.

"Oh." He nodded.

"Don't worry, nothing bad." Nova smirked wrapping her arm around his waist.

"Well I hope not." He smirked, draping his arm over her shoulders and took a drink.

"Speaking of the devil." Michelle smiled pointing towards Gena who was now walking towards them.

As she got up to them, Zack moved his hand down where it rested on the middle of Nova's back. He then introduced the girls to each other.
