Skipping a head bit

"Come on Nova we're going to be late!" Zacky called up the stairs at her then looked at his watch with a sigh.

He had planned a special dinner for her birthday.

"I'm coming, I'm coming." She called back.

She put the finishing touches on her makeup then walked down.

"I'm sorry, I'm ready."

She walked down in a light blue maxi type dress that look like it sparkled when the light hit it, that had a slit from the bottom up to her thigh. Then it had straps going over her shoulders and a strap that hung down on her arms. For her hair she decided to pin her hair in a loose bun on the back of her head with a white sequined headband. She had decided to keep her makeup light, only having lip gloss on then a little bit of eye liner and a little bit of eye shadow that matched the dress. Her high heels had only a small heel on it that strapped around her ankles.

When she seen him just staring, she ran her hands down her waist.

"Is this too much?"

"No." His voice caught in his throat as he shook his head so he cleared it, "You look beautiful as always."

"Thank you." She smiled.

She had noticed he had on black pants and a bottomed up red plaid shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. And his hair slicked back.

"It's missing something though."

"And what would that be?"

"Jewelry."

She then realized she didn't put on a necklace nor her earrings.

"Oh shit! I was rushing and forgot them." She went to turn to go back up but he grabbed her wrist.

"Babe, wait. Maybe these will help." He held up a small gift bag.

She came back to him as she grabbed the bag, "What's this?"

"Open it and find out."

Smiling, she pulled out a box then opened it to find a white gold necklace with a pendant that had a blue sapphire lined with white diamonds and earrings to match.

"Oh God Zack, these are beautiful." She ran her fingers over them.

He helped her put the necklace on then she put the ear rings in.

"Thank you baby." She kisses him.

He kissed her back, "You're welcome, happy birthday."

They then headed to the restaurant.

"So what next?" She grinned once they left the restaurant.

"You'll see." He grinned back.

He then drove to the beach.

"Oh wow." She breathed out seeing the moon shine over the ocean, "So beautiful."

"I agree." He says staring at her, he wasn't talking about the moon but her.

"But don't expect me to walk down there because I won't be able to."

"Why can't you?" He looked confused.

"Uh because of my shoes, I'd sink right into the sand." She giggled.

"Oh right." He chuckled, "Well take them off."

"I guess I can."

Once she took them off, she held them in one hand while he grabbed the other one and they walked to the beach.

They got to part where he had planned then behind some rocks he grabbed a blanket and his acoustic guitar.

"What's this?" She asked surprised, "Where was those?"

"I came earlier and hid them." He smirked, setting the guitar down, he laid the blanket down.

"Oh wow." She giggled then they sat down on it. "You can't go a day without messing with a guitar can you?" She joked when he set his guitar in his lap.

"Nope, I can't help it." He chuckled.

He looked towards the boulders with a head nod then back at her and then started strumming on the guitar, messing around, playing the song Grow Old With You from the movie The Wedding Singer with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

"Oh my God." She giggled cupping her hands over her mouth and nose.

"Would be so nice growing Old with you." He sung with a grin.

"You really serenading me with a song from a movie?" She laughed softly.

"I am." He chuckled as he kept playing the chords, "Fine, how about this one instead."

He then started playing different chords.

"Together can never be close enough for me. To feel like I'm close enough to you. You wear white and I'll wear out the words I love you. And you're beautiful. Now that the wait is over. And love has finally showed her my way. Marry me. Today and every day marry me."

Setting his guitar down, he started playing I swear by All-4-one on his phone then stood up, pulling her up with him. Smiling at each other he linked fingers with her and wrapped his other arm around her waist.

As they danced to the song, he stared into her eyes as he sang along to the song.

"And I swear, by the moon and the stars in the skies. I'll be there. I swear, like the shadow that's by your side. I'll be there."

"Zack, what's with these songs?" She questioned.

"This." He let go of her, reaching into his pocket, got down on one knee, pulling a small box out. He then opened it to show an engagement ring causing her to take a deep breath as her eyes got wide.

"Nova, all I want is to be there for you when you feel like you are not wanted. I want a future with you. You have always had my heart. And there are so many things in my mind that I want to say to you but I can't find the right words to say them all. But I love you today, tomorrow and always. Will you make me so much happier and marry me?"

She just stared at him because the words she wanted to say was caught in her throat as tears stung her eyes.

"Nova? Say something please." He was starting to get worried.

"Yes." She finally choked out, "Yes, I'll marry you."

"Oh thank God." He breathed out then slid the ring on her finger.

As soon as he stood up, he threw his arms up looking off to the side, "She said yes!"

Laughing softly she pulled him into a kiss right as their friends came out from the boulders, with Johnny holding a small video camera.

"Wait, you was having him film all of that?" Nova giggled.

"Uh maybe." He said innocently.

"And what if I had said no?" She smirked.

"Then I would have felt like a jackass." He chuckled.
