Sky was getting ready to go to her best friend Jada's house. As she was getting ready, she grabbed her pocket knife off her dresser next to the window, and quickly slipped it in her bag. Sky always brought her pocket knife wherever she went, just to make sure she could have a weapon to defend herself. After she grabbed all her necessities, her eyes scanned her room one last time to make sure she wasn't forgetting anything. However, Sky got distracted by the piles and piles of stuffed animals. There were so many toys, it was like a mountain. Then her gaze was caught by her walls, concealed by artists and anime posters. Sky's eye continued to inspect her room, and as she did she caught a view of her desk piled up with many drawings, pencils, books, and of course her school work. She had almost forgotten that she and Jada were going to study together for the math test next week. She quickly ran to her desk and slipped her math papers in her bag and zipped it shut. She looked at her window and saw that her curtains were fluttering gracefully in the air. Sky walked over to her window and closed it, then walked out of her bedroom and closed the door as well.
Sky is a short girl, 4'11 to be exact. She was always shorter than everyone around her. She could never find anyone as short as her, but that's fine, as her perspective of the world made her special, so I guess that made her special. However, her popularity among the puberty-ridden boys was also what made her special. They always wanted to take her out on dates or bring her back to their houses. The boy's attraction comes from her beautiful, lengthy silver hair, and her big blue eyes that boys can't seem to swim out of. Her smile melted the heart of anybody who laid eyes on her.
Sky was on her way to Jada's house and she felt a huge weight push against her knocking her down, Her hands slid across the asphalt scraping her hands to the point where blood is dripping from her hands, she quickly grabbed a tiny washcloth and put it on the cuts.
"Hey! What was that for?"
Sky yelled.
" Oh my god, I'm so sorry I didn't see you there, here let me help you up."
they insisted. Sky looked at this guy for a bit, to try and recognize who he is because she knows everyone in the area, she was popular after all. He had black, messy hair, that is like a rats' nest. He was tall, but that wasn't surprising to her because she's shorter than everyone else.
"Do you want me to help you up?"
She slowly reached her hand out and grabbed him, as she did this he pulled her up.
"Thanks, I guess."
She glared at him.
"You're not from around here are you?"
"Oh no, I'm not from around here. I just came here from the capital."
He smiled. Sky looked confused.
"Did you walk all the way here? That's a five-hour walk from here!"
She had this look of disbelief on her face.
"So that's how long I've been walking? Jeez, that was quite a walk."
He looked at her beaming.
"I guess I did walk five hours didn't I?"
"Did you ever stop?"
"Nope, I walked the whole way without stopping."
"Are you okay? Do you need water or anything? If so my house isn't far from here."
She asked. He looked at her and smiled.
"No that's okay, I'm sorry but I should get going. Sorry for knocking you over. Bye!"
"Wait I never got your name!"
"Oh my name is Storm, what's yours?"
"Its Sky!"
"I'm sorry but I have to get going. Bye!"
He smiled and ran off before she could say anything.Sky continued to Jada's house. As she approached Jada's house she stopped to check her phone to see what time it was, the time read 5:30. She was early, she wasn't supposed to be there until 6:00, but what could be wrong with being a little bit early. She walked up to Jada's house and rang the doorbell. Jada's mom slowly opened the door.
"Oh, sky! Come in!"
She said beamingly. She quickly took off her shoes and stepped inside. She found it annoying, but she understands as it was part of Jada's Japanese heritage.
"Hello Mrs.Lee, I'm sorry that I'm so early."
Jada came running down the stairs.
"Sky! You're here early!"
"Hi, Jada! Sorry, I came so early, but, are you ready to study?"
"Till my mind goes numb"
Both the girls ran to Jada's room. When they got to Jada's room Sky put her bags on the floor next to the bed. She took out her math homework and her notes. They sat on Jada's bed studying for hours, By the time they were done studying it was 10:23. At least it wasn't a school night, or they would have been exhausted for the test. Jada's mom called them downstairs to eat. Her mom made Sky's favorite, sticky rice balls. She also made this soup, it was hard for Sky to tell what it was because Sky's mom had never made anything like this before. Jada's dad came in with shrimp, Sky gets kind of weirded out by shrimp, but it's fine, at least she has something to eat. "Itadakimasu!"
In Japanese culture, it's traditional to say itadakimasu before a meal. Sky thinks it's cool to say it. After they finish dinner the two girls go upstairs and start watched anime the rest of the night.
