Cleo was hugging herself in the icy, piercing wind as she stood outside of Sky's house. She waited for what felt like a lifetime until she saw Sky step out of the house. Cleo smiles warmly as she started walking with Sky to school
"So, how'd you sleep?"
"Pretty well, how about you? You look like hell"
Cleo laughs at the remark but scans Sky's neck to see if Storm did follow through. However, her eyes found no silver sand encased a golden, glass hourglass and suspected that Storm didn't give it to her yet. Cleo smiles softly to herself until Sky's eyes caught it
"What're you smiling about, weirdo?"
"Oh, nothing... Just about seeing that really cute boy yesterday"
Sky rolled her eyes and chuckles
"Yea, guess he's cute for a weirdo"
"Guess he's cute" you must be blind! How can you not like him?"
"Never said I didn't like him, we just met him and you shouldn't get your hopes up if he likes you back. You don't know how many girls he might be leading on"
"He might like me though"
"What'd you say?"
"Oh, nothing"
Cleo murmured. The two girls continued off to school, one hoping they might see the beautiful, oh-so mysterious young boy while the other was trying to process what happened to them last night. The whole day, Cleo thought about the boy, and even had to excuse herself in her 6th-period class to go to the bathroom so the teacher would stop interrupting her daydreams with mindless math. As Cleo was splashing water on her face, her eyes stared at the young man's eyes in the mirrors.
"Storm?"
"Hello Cleo, how're you?"
"Fine... What're you doing here?"
"I'm here to tell you, you need to take what's rightfully yours. That necklace, Sky stole it from. As I was talking to her yesterday after I saw you, she snatched it out of my hand. I didn't think anything of it, but after that, I realized I made a huge mistake. I should've given it to the girl who truly caught my eyes. You."
Cleo shook her head, and stepped back from the bathroom mirror and covered her eyes with her hands
"You're just a figment of my imagination. You're not real. I need to get out of here."
"Cleo, wait! How could this be imaginary if the feelings are real? You need to take back what's yours. Take it."
As Cleo swiftly tool her hands off her eyes, the boy was gone. It looked like Storm. Maybe it wasn't Storm. Or, maybe it was Storm! She didn't know what to believe, but she did know she needed that necklace. As the 7th-period bell rang, she hurried back to her 6th period, quickly grabbed her backpack, and headed to the 7th period, where she had AP Language with Sky. As she sat at her usual seat, she quickly grabbed her water bottle and opened it ever so slightly. As Sky went to sit next to Cleo, the desk shifted and water flooded onto Sky's pants. Her face begins to flush with red as she runs to the bathroom, leaving her backpack on the damp chair. Cleo smiled as her hands rummaged through her backpack.
"Where is it, where is it?!'
Nothing. She slumped in her seat as she zips up Sky's backpack, and waits for Sky to come back to class. As Sky sits next to Cleo, Sky apologizes to Cleo, and Celo forgives her, except
"Of course I forgive you Sky. Hey, why don't we hang out after school since the year is almost ending."
"Really? Do you wanna go to-"
"I was hoping we could stay at home, like, maybe your house? I only ask as my parents are home and I don't want to face them."
"Yea, sure"
Cleo smiles to herself and enjoys 8th period with Sky as she taps her foot anxiously for the rest of the class.
