Chapter 18: Could You Really Be Mine?

Nico was staring down at Jason, who had a grin on his face, and was kneeling down, with a ring in his palm. His body wasn't recognizing the words. What was Jason asking him? Did Jason.....Did Jason like him? The thoughts weren't working. They didn't compute. He stared at the blonde until people began whispering. Nico shook his head, blinking.

"Jason- What?"

The blonde sighs and lifts his mask, removing it from his face. He looks back up at Nico, face pulled into a large grin, eyes shining with admiration and love.

"Will you go out with me?" Jason asks again, and Nico smiles, shaking his head.

"Of course, Jason. Of course."

Jason stands up quickly, and Nico's head reels. He just....did they....are they...

"Whoa, Nico, hey, are you okay?" Jason's voice breaks his thought process.

"So wait, are we together? Like...a couple?"

Jason nods. "Yes. I hope so...I like you a lot, Nico. I have from the moment I met you, you are easily the bravest, nicest, cutest boy I've ever met. Nico, I...I want to be in a relationship."

Nico gulps, and the crowd breaks into applause, cheering. Nico blushes and hides his face in Jason's neck, huffing.

"Oh, Nico, why the hell are you so adorable?" Jason mumbles, and Nico huffs again.

"I'm not. We should go."

Everything about the night feels too rushed for Nico.

Nico was staring at his ceiling, his hands folded behind his head. He grinned, recounting the dance. Jason had done it, he had asked him out.

And Nico had said yes.

Just the thought makes Nico squeal and clutch a pillow into his chest. He kicks his legs up, rolling into a sitting position, and squeals again, grinning. He had a boyfriend! He had a boyfriend that wouldn't cheat, wouldn't stray, wouldn't go looking for a girl. He knew Jason. Knew him well enough to know he would always be there for Nico.

"Nico, you've been squealing, are you alright?"

His head shoots up, and he grins at Bianca, who is standing in the doorway, with Reyna leaning into her side.

"Jason asked me out! I said yes!!" Nico squeals again and throws himself back against his mattress.

"Nico- That's awesome! That's amazing!" Reyna grins, walking in and sitting beside Nico. The two had bonded quite a bit, and they got along rather nicely, which was great with Bianca. Reyna and Nico had talked a lot, and had a lot in common. Bianca was proud of her little brother for being so social. And now he had a boyfriend!
