The following day, they had all gathered again, sitting once more on the couch as they discussed their plan carefully, step by step until it had gotten annoying to hear Nancy say 'and then' for the billionth time.Maybe she just liked repetition or was too anxious to have to think of more phrases to use, either way no one commented on the matter and so she kept on talking.Although 20 minutes in,it went reasonably quiet when she went into detail on what to do if someone got hurt in the upside down, the idea of it seeming unrealistic but totally possible all at the same time."Don't tell the kids that we're doing this,"Steve quickly interrupted their discussion as he had been zoned out for the past few minutes, thinking.None of them knew if by the end of it they'd be alive. They hoped they would but it wasn't something they could predict or guess.Death was usually inevitable and took people by surprise, which somehow was better than the looming dread of knowing someone would die in a said matter of hours or days. Maybe losing someone that died all of a sudden by perhaps getting hit by a car,or more realistically, killed by something from the upside down, hurts a little less as they knew they weren't in much pain.Unless that thing from the upside down was Vecna, then it hurt twice as bad.
"What's the hurt in telling them, they're not coming with us either way,"Robin asked quietly, sparing Steve of one of her 'what are you on about' glances as she couldn't care less.
Did no one get it? he thought as the others continued to stare at him blankly, awaiting an answer that he hadn't yet given.
"I mean if we tell them, the whole time we're there they're just going to be worrying about what's going on with us,and who knows, they might sneak into the upside down too. Those kids are so much braver thank you think, trust me,I've been babysitting them for a long while,"he began to ramble like Robin usually would now.Nancy and Robin both gave a small nod whilst glancing at each other. They also knew the kids,Nancy obviously knew her brother, although they pretended they hated each other when in reality they didn't,and she knew his friends and how absolutely reckless they were.Robin on the other hand was stuck in a secret Russian elevator with Dustin and Erica the year prior.Safe to say she learnt loads during that time, some things a little difficult to believe but she digested the information as they escaped from the Russians, and as she was drugged.Everything seeming sort of hazy at that time but she realised that other dimensions and monsters made as much sense as UFO's did.
Eddie didn't know all that much about the kids, only really socialising with Dustin but he knew that he would rather die than watch someone he had a huge connection with go,and in that case any of them being close to biting the dust would end in him sacrificing himself. It almost made Steve sick to the stomach when he thought about one of the kids dying, they were like his family now,his own kids that he took care of.Sometimes it even seemed like he cared for them more than their parents did.
The rest of the conversation was left unsaid,Nancy skipping quickly onto another subject of weapons and the actions they were going to take to prepare now.
"And that shop that Eddie told us about, what was it called,"she clicked her fingers as if she was waiting for the answer to drop from thin air,"warzone or something?I don't know, but we have to go back to get more stuff."The others nodded in agreement, not questioning what things they needed to buy as it was obvious;anything that kills.

"Look,Nance,it's a gun.Your favourite,"Robin squealed whilst picking up one of the small silver shotguns and pointing it playfully at Nancy, pretending to shoot her,"pew pew pew." The brunette smiled bashfully in return, looking down at her leather boots so that her curls hung loosely around her face, covering her from Robins eyes just incase she was as flustered as she thought she was.Robin could say the most random thing and it would still cause her to blush like a small girl, you know, twirling her hair and avoiding eye contact at all cost as she the memory resurfaced every so often.Maybe that was her charm or something, okay back to the guns.
