I stared at the translucent window, absolutely amazed at Luke's comment. What's gotten in his head? Why is he being so nice to me?
"We're here Oli." Luke stated, parking in a parking slot. I checked my surroundings and sure enough we were 'here' but where is here? An old swing set stood beneath a dying tree, hiding underneath the shade. There was a kids slide and playground right next to it along with a bench.
I love this side of Luke.
"I wanted to get to know you more." He stated unsurely. "Since we're going to be living together the whole summer." He smirked, pulling out my crutches and handing them to me.
I nod, sitting on an old swing, rocking back and forth.
"How about 20 questions?" I suggested, when he started pushing me on the swing.
Please do not fall, please do not fall.
"What's your favorite question?" I ask.
"Blue."
"Never would guessed." I sarcastically mock, looking back at his blue shirt. I roll my eyes and give myself a mental pat on the back.
"Why don't you want to go to prom?" Luke asks.
I shrug not really knowing how to answer that.
"A couple reasons actually. 1. I don't have a date. 2. I'll look bad in my dress. 3. Al will ditch me for some cute boys." I shrug again as he kept pushing me, softly.
"Well, if someone asked you would you go?"
"I guess. It depended on who it was though."
He chuckled and I rolled my eyes once again. I really need to stop doing that before they start rolling out of my eye sockets.
"Who are you going to prom with?" I question.
"No one. I'm still going though." Luke mocked. "Jason will be there, you should go." He repeated.
"Daniel will be there with Nicole." I sigh, picturing him in my head then mentally slapping myself.
"What happened between all of you?"
I took a deep breath, willing myself to tell him some of my darkest secrets. Ha. Just kidding. They're like rainbows and unicorns.
"Daniel was my first boyfriend, and first kiss. Nicole is my ex bestfriend. PreAlice. It had almost been a year for Daniel and I, when I walk into Nicole's room seeing her on the bed with him. Yes, 'on the bed'. Anyways, that's where I ended it. He was a scumbag that I wish I never knew."
"How'd you meet?"
"That's what you got out of all of that?" I chuckle, "well he was in my chemistry class in the 9th grade. We were paired as partners but even then we didn't talk much. One day, a bunch of jocks came and picked on me by my locker and Daniel stood up for me telling them to 'shove off'."
My phone started ringing off the hook and my favorite picture of Jason and I popped up on the screen. I answered, and turned Jase on speaker. "Talk to me."
"Where are you?" He asks worried.
"With Luke. Why?"
"You couldn't have left a note?" He barks.
"You were at work."
"I still worry Olivia. I'm your older brother-"
"By two minutes!" I add, cutting him off.
"Still your older brother who worries about your well being and where you are, alright? When are you coming home? Alice is here and she won't shut up about going dress shopping for Prom. You're going?"
