"You're not invited."
"You can't hide your voice forever."
"Sure I can. Like this." I insisted, shutting my mouth.
"You have to talk sometime." I kept my mouth shut. Mason sighed and tickled my sides, I laughed out loud.
"That's cheating." He shrugged, obviously not ashamed of his cheating ways.
"It got you to talk."
"Do you ever leave?"
"No, because you wanna be around me." My phone rang before I could throw a witty comment to him. The caller was unknown.
"Talk to me."
"That I'll do." It was Luke. I barely resisted crawling through that phone and eating that bitch for dinner. Sorry, I was hungry.
"What do you want?" I snap.
"You can't ignore me forever Olivia."
"That was my plan." I put bluntly.
"You want to talk to me. We've had to many good memories."
"You see that?"
"I see nothing." Luke states, confused. I smile at his confused state but continue on.
"Exactly. That's how much I care about you." I hang up the phone and continue searching through my closet for things to wear. "Why do you hate me so much, you're Making me do this? The whole teams going to be there!"
"You don't have to do it, you know." I drop the outfit I chose and look at him in complete shock.
"Are you serious?" A smile cracked upon his face and I knew something wasn't right.
"No, I'm just kidding. You have to."
"I hate you."
"I love you too."

"Is this okay?" I question Mason, walking in front of him, showing off my outfit. He doesn't look up from his phone but agrees anyways. "I could be wearing a paper bag and you would've told me it was fine."Looking up from his phone Mason says, "alright babe, you look smoking hot and I'm sure you would even in a paper bag. Is that what you wanted to hear?"
I throw my hands up in the air and let out a loud, heaved sigh. "How did you get all of that out of my sentence? I will never understand boys, honestly."
"Are you ready?" Mason asked impatiently. I smirk and shake my head. "Stop stalling and let's go."

"I see the boys. I'm so not going out there. Nope." We had finally entered the Karaoke Diner, much to my displeasure. Lights lit the whole diner, making it happier and cheerier than needed. My boys sat in the back at a small booth that barely fit all of them, patiently waiting for me to go onstage."Jason came from the hospital to see you perform, Oli!"
"That's not even a big deal," I defend putting my hand on my hip. "He was released today, plus he hears me sing all of the time." An idea rung in my head, "actually, I'll sing.. If you sing with me."
"Fine."
"Wait what?!"
"If that's what it's going to take to get you on that stage then fine. I'm singing with you. I'm going to make arrangements with the Karaoke player."

(Please watch the video above! It has an important role in this chapter! If it doesn't show up, please look it up on YouTube! Thanks for reading! Y'all are awesome!)Mason and I took the stage, and locked eyes throughout the whole song. Nothing could make me look away. It was almost like his brown eyes, swallowed me and I got lost in his soul.
Mason was undeniably my best friend, and I planned to keep it that way. He pushed me to my limits but knew when to stop. He knew my weaknesses, but never uses them against me.
His chocolate brown eyes always found a way to meet my own. His hands always found a way to intertwine with mine. He was there when no one else was, we've had our fights but nothing has broken us apart.
In that moment I realized something that would change my future forever.
I was in love with my best friend.
*
Before I knew it, I was walking off the stage with Mason, smiling about our performance. I pushed my feelings to the back of my mind and focused on what had just happened. I'd sang in front of a big group of people.Oh. Dear. Lord.
My boys found us in the hallways and crushed both Mason and I in a huge group hug. We all laughed about it before we headed back home.
I was in the truck with Mason and Jason when both mine and Jason's phone rang with the same message plastered on the screen.
Dad: Come to the hospital. Something's happened.
I knew exactly what had happened.
