"Loki! Hurry up and ask!"

"Ask what Mother?"

"Don't play dumb with me, you know exactly what I'm talking about" Frigga scolded.

"Don't ignore the Queeeeen!" The twins sang out as they dashed past, the two of them giving Frigga a high-five.

"Mother" Loki groaned as Professor McGonagall came around the corner with someone.

"She died of natural causes!" You insisted.

"Y/n, you pushed her off the roof!" McGonagall replied indignantly.

"Yeah, gravity. Natural."

Loki snickered in amusement, stopping abruptly when Frigga gave him a look. "That was just amusing Mother."

"Of course."

"What did you do this time darling?" Loki questioned, containing a groan as his Mother raised her brows at 'darling."

"One of my old... enemies I suppose you could say finally found me and attempted to kill me while I was on the roof. So I pushed her off."

Loki chuckled as McGonagall sighed in disapproval. "Sweetie, that's illegal."

"Shame."

"And why were you on the roof love?" Loki asked with a grin, Frigga smirking at the name.

You were silent for a moment. "That's none of your concern Lokes."

"Soooo, do you have date to the ball I've heard so much about Minerva?" Frigga asked with mock innocence.

The Professor grinned. "I am going with Professor Snape as a friend. Do you have a date Professor Y/n?"

"I am not discussing this" you sighed, turning to leave.

McGonagall grabbed your collar, stopping you as Loki's cheeks heated. "You're not going anywhere dearie."

"Loki, get it together" Frigga whispered, linking arms with Professor McGonagall and walking away with matching grins.

"Your own Mother has turned against you" you smirked as Loki flipped you off. "So how does that feel?"

"See you in class darling" he answered with a grin, disappearing in a shimmer of green.

"Idiot" Frigga muttered with a shake of her head. "I can't believe he still hasn't asked."

"Frigga?"

"Quick, hide!" She hustled, the twins ducking down.

"Frigga, are you hiding behind a statue?"

"... No."

"I can see George's shoe."

"Really George? We were so close" the Queen sighed, stepping out from behind the stone structure.

"Sorry Your Highness" he snickered as they ran away.

"Were you trying to spy on us?" You asked incredulously, a laugh leaving your lips as she attempted to look innocent.

"Of course not my dear, the twins were merely showing me one of their secret passageways."

"I know for a fact that there are no passageways behind that statue because I showed that pair most of them."

"I would never spy on your dear."

"The evidence says otherwise."

She sighed, her shoulders slumping. "Fine. Yes, we were trying to see if Loki was finally going to ask you to the ball. And I can't believe that he still hasn't."

"Maybe he plans on asking someone else?"

"Like who?"

You thought for a moment, but came up with nothing.

"Exactly dear" Frigga smiled, placing a hand on your cheek. "He's been focusing all his attention on you, not meeting other people."

"That's because he doesn't like people."

"And because he's in love with you. So I won't be returning to Asgard until he's asked you to that ball."

With a satisfied smile, the Queen disappeared with a flick of her wrist, leaving you to think over what she said.

An hour or so later, you had gathered up the courage needed and teleported to Loki's room.

Knocking on the door, you waited nervously outside, rocking back and forth on your heels.

"N/n? I was just about to come and find you" he said as he opened the door, stepping inside to let you in.

"Well I beat you to it" you grinned, sitting down in one of the armchairs. "I need to talk to you about something."

"So do I, ladies first?"

You nodded, the God looking at you expectantly.

"Darling?"

"Would you like to go to the ball with me?" You blurted out.

Loki looked surprised. "Pardon?"

"I've decided that I'm not going to conform to society's idea of waiting for the man to ask, so I was wondering if you wanted to go the Yule hall with me?" You elaborated, twisting your hands together nervously.

He was silent for a moment, a soft smile on his lips. "I would love to my darling."

You sighed in relief, sinking into the chair as he laughed. "I was so worried you would say no."

"Say no? Why would O ever say no to that offer?" He asked curiously. "I was planning to come and ask you when you knocked on my door."

You smiled happily, the God hugging you tightly.

"I have one request."

"What would that be my dear?"

"Can you wear your formal armour?" You pleaded, looking up at him. "It looks so cool."

He chuckled quietly. "Of course."

Before you could reply, am excited Frigga and the twins burst in through the door.

"Finally!" She cheered in excitement, hugging the two of you as the twins bounced up and down in excitement.

"Really Mother?" Loki sighed, shaking his head in amusement as she kissed both on the cheek before leaving again, the twins following along behind.

"I like your Mother" you grinned, the God kissing your forehead with a chuckle.
