UPON FINDING THE CUT-OFF LIMB FROM Merle Dixon himself, the five of them noticed there was a blood trail off into another section of the building. It led them to an office building, where they not only took down two walkers, but found that Merle was tougher than any of them thought.

"Goddamn," Emerson muttered, "What a tough son of a bitch."

"Told ya, nobody can kill Merle but Merle. Feed 'im a hammer and he'll shit nails." Daryl shrugged in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Thanks for that visual." Emerson rolled her eyes, shivering at the thought.

"Wait... What's that smell?" Glenn asked, wanting to know what everyone else seemed to realize.

Rick sighed, "He cauterized the stump." The truth made Glenn visibly gag at the thought.

It was then that Rick and Daryl went back and forth until it ended with them finally agreeing to grab the bag of guns and then start searching for Merle further. They knew he couldn't have gone far. The shock and blood loss was a dangerous mix, which meant he was most likely passed out or hiding somewhere in the streets. The five of them hoped for the latter while they retrieved the guns back.

As Rick explained what guns were in his bag, she wondered how a small town like that could carry so much weight. Shane had explained during the beginning that King's County had a small crime grade, nothing like Atlanta where Emerson was a detective, but this also meant they had an even smaller police station. Their three best officers were Rick Grimes, Shane Walsh, and Andrew Tyler. Where Andrew was now, none of them knew. They did know that it was because of the three of them that King's County police station was heavily armed.

Once a plan was set in place, Glenn explained that he would make a run for the guns while the four of them were split up two blocks apart. T-Dog and Daryl would go one way while Rick and Emerson would go the other. That way, if Glenn got cut off, he would have two places to go to.

Which was now why Emerson and Rick were carefully awaiting the arrival of Glenn to come back with the guns. They stood in the alley, their guns at their side and ready to use if necessary.
