*KNOCK KNOCK!*
A loud knocking on the door gained the attention of a brown-haired ponytailed man wearing glasses in his late thirties who briefly stopped what he was doing.
Suozi looked around the living room first to see if anyone was willing to answer, but found out that neither That Brat or That Brat's Assistant was inside the house, especially that self-proclaimed son of his who always seemed to loiter all around him whenever he gets the chance.
Suozi stood up from the couch and went over to the door and pried it open not expecting much.
There, Suozi saw a small energetic boy with spiky yet soft black hair, sharp yellow eyes with white diamond pupils, fair skin, and a small mischievous smile.
It's the self-proclaimed son of his.
Suozi's eyes wandered down to see what the boy was holding, and found a note in his right hand and a small bouquet of flowers on the other.
"Suzy! Good morning!"
The boy had called him by his nickname. He didn't mind it that much anyway. He responded to the boy with an acknowledging nod.
The boy handed him a letter.
"Here! I made this for you!"
Suozi took the letter from the self-proclaimed son.
"Hm?"
He began to read the letter.
Happy Father's day!
I prepared a gift for you in your mailbox! I didn't have enough expenses for a gift box! Sorry! With Love, Your Son Evan.
Suozi looked at the letter again, and back to the boy.
The boy had already left and surprisingly made him hold the small bouquet of flowers without him knowing about it while reading the letter.
Suozi sighed as he put away the note in his pocket, and made his way towards the mailbox.
He unconsciously prepared himself for whatever was inside and opened the mailbox cautiously.
His eyes widened in surprise when he saw that the boy had gifted him a pipe bomb—
...!
"Suzy!"
He opened his eyes when his ears heard a familiar boy calling him by his nickname.
It was now night, and the one who just recently woke him up was the same boy who had given him a father's day gift despite him not having any children.
He assessed his surroundings and found that he was back inside the living room sitting on the sofa. He then glared at the mischievous boy beside him.
"Ahahaha! The look on your face when you thought it was a pipe bomb!" The boy laughed.
"Tsk." Suozi clicked his tongue as he held in the urge to hit the boy on his head.
"You brat..."
Suozi groaned, covering his eyes with his hand as an attempt to go back to sleep.
He felt the boy shake him.
"Suzy! Come on! It was a joke! That pipe bomb was actually a container!"
The boy whined, making Suozi remove his hand from his face.
The boy hurriedly showed him the so-called pipe bomb and shoved it into his hands.
"Open it!"
Suozi inspected the 'Pipe Bomb' and began to try to open it. He placed his hand on the Keypad, and unlocked it by opening it like a chest.
A rolled-up paper was inside.
"Take the paper...!"
He heard the boy say suppressing his excitement.
He took the paper off of the Pipe bomb container, and unfurled it open.
It's a painted picture of him and the boy.
"D-Do you like it...?"
"I did my best in making it..."
The boy says as his voice slowly turned into a whisper.
Suozi stared at the boy for a little while, before placing his hand on his head, now patting him.
The boy was surprised, not expecting this type of reaction from Suozi as he raised his shaky hands to make Suozi's hand stay a little longer by holding it down on him.
The boy closed his eyes, tears have begun to trickle down his face.
"Thank you so much for everything... Dad..."
...
Evan opened his eyes, seeing the sight of Suozi's picture in front of him on an altar, Evan's painting from years ago not too far away.
Evan's hands were on his head, trying to imitate the same feeling of praise he got that day.
He misses him.
