And so, the two chatted again until the lights went out.
Night would begin then.
Jackson and Minji were beginning to grow tired. Tired of the game and tired from sleepless nights waiting to hear someone's pained screams.
"I don't understand why the game hasn't ended. Honestly, by now I would've thought we had won. So many people dead for no reason! We voted off so many good people just because we haven't had good enough evidence," Jackson cried, "I just wish it would end. I don't know what I did to end up here, but I wish I could have just opened that invitation, ripped it up, and never have come here!"
Minji lethargically nodded and replied, "Yeah. If I knew what this whole thing would be, I would've burned that stupid envelope without even reading it! As you said, we haven't got anywhere! We've only voted off two evil people and one evil person was killed! We're hopeless, I just hope our suspicion is right. Melodie's evil, isn't she?"
Laying his head down on the cold, chilling concrete, Jackson would say, "I think so. Then again, I can't remember all of the clues from before I died. Then, that'd mean either Tamia-"
"Don't even say it-"
"Or you- would be evil. To be fair, I do trust you immensely. Tamia, on the other hand, I don't know. They're okay, I guess. I just- I just want to win."The entire house was cold. There was no heating (at night) in this abandoned wreck of a house, which meant, every second of every hour of every night, any person living in this house would feel a cool chill across their spine and a freezing brush of wind across their face. Spiders and other insects didn't make an appearance in this house but there were a few cobwebs scattered along the corners of each room. Minji and Jackson were laying in the coldest room of the house, but they didn't mind. Jackson was with someone he trusted and Minji was with someone she knew would help her to win. His mind was weak and pathetic, or so Minji thought. He appeared calm most of the time. Watching him crack under the pressure of the game was a sight to enjoy for Minji. She didn't care about him; she didn't need to. He hadn't realised that. Jackson took off his yellow overcoat and laid it on him as a blanket. Minji, completely exhausted, drifted slowly off to sleep. Soon after, Jackson did the same and started sleeping.
A few hours of sleeping passed and Minji awoke suddenly. She was careful not to disturb Jackson in any way. She got up to her feet and crept steadily out the room, walking towards the bathroom, in which Tamia was sleeping. Their hair was spread out all on the floor around their head. They looked pretty, though, in the dim light of the moon shining through the gaps in the blocked windows. Breathing slowly and gently, Tamia laid on the floor, resting on their back. Minji looked down at them before stepping away to go to the kitchen instead. She took a knife from the knife block and gripped it firmly in her right hand. Like a predator going after its prey, Minji fiercely made her way back to Tamia. Her gaze moved down and hit the sleeping body on the floor. Minji's grabbed Tamia's neck and held it to the floor with her left hand. The knife in her other hand would be plunged into Tamia's chest. Their eyes shot open, and Tamia let out a chilling, pained screech as they wriggled around trying to get the murderer to stop stabbing them. Minji just kept on piercing Tamia's body with her blade. She stopped. Tamia had stopped breathing, too. Their chest lay still, open and bleeding. They weren't too butchered or messed up, not like the others, but Minji had now decided to saw off Tamia's left hand. Then, Minji dragged the corpse away. A few minutes later, she went back to the crime scene to quickly and quietly washing her hands, discarding the knife in the kitchen after exiting the bathroom. Minji turned back to walk over to the empty solitary room where Jackson was still sleeping. She leaned against the wall, tired, and collapsed.
"Minji? Minji, wake up! Oh my gosh, are you okay? You're bleeding!"
Minji awoke to a yelling face in front of her. Eyes squinting at the face staring at her, Minji slowly got to her feet and looked emptily at Jackson, whose brightly coloured clothes were hurting her eyes. She rubbed her eyes and turned her head to look around. Melodie was nowhere to be seen.
"H-Hi, Jackson... Wait, did you say I am bleeding?" she muttered, yawning. Jackson nodded with a concerned look on his face. Minji pressed a hand on her forehead, and wiped off a small amount of dried blood. She looked at the floor beneath her and saw spots of her own blood too.
"Yeah, I just woke up and saw you were bleeding on your head! What happened?" Jackson asked worriedly. Minji shrugged and felt her forehead again.
"I don't know. Maybe I just hit my head on something..." Minji responded.
