It's been a few days since the whole issue at Barton's building. Riley and a few of his friends that Alexia got along with well took her up on her offer to stay at her place and other than the few questions they had about how the hell she even knew how to do that which she brushed off with the stories of how she contracted with the military and loved rock climbing she "figured it out."They have one day left in the city and have spent the entire time trying to keep her mind off a certain someone. Today's distraction—skydiving.
"So, how high do we jump from?" Travis asked, placing a plate of French toast on the table. Travis is twenty-three and the baby of the group, but he also grew up with five siblings and is the best cook after over a decade of practice.
"You don't wanna know. It only makes it worse." Reya says as she loads up her plate.
"Mm-mm. I need to know." Nick mumbles over a mouthful of food. He's twenty-seven and has been with Magic Mike the longest. He and Riley were roommates when Riley first moved to Vegas after college.
"K, well it is about fourteen thousand feet which is just a bit higher than two and a half miles in the air."
"You have your A license right?" Sore, the final dancer who has been staying with her asks. Soren is the most like her. He's the same age give or take a few months and he joined magic mike after leaving the army a year ago. He's also the only one other than her and Reya who has jumped out of a plane before since he was Airborne trained in the Army.
"Yep. That's why I don't have to tandem jump."
"Hurry up, finish eating. Uber will be here in ten." Riley says walking out of the bathroom pulling on his shirt.
"You're not eating?"Reya asks, watching as he drops down on the couch with his eyes glued to his phone.
"Nope. I eat. I throw up. In the air. Nobody wants that."
Pulling into the parking lot, the six of them jump out of the car. Alexia, Reya, and Soren are casually joking around but Nick, Travis, and Riley on the other hand—they have turned green.
"Alexia! I was excited when I saw your name on the schedule today!" A twenty-eight-year-old platinum blond woman comes walking out to greet them.
"Ellie!" She awkwardly returns Ellie's quick hug. "I brought a few friends with me." She turns back to everyone waving them to follow her in.
"Jesus, what are they, your personal Magic Mike performers?"
"Well...Yes actually, kinda. Ellie, this is Travis, Riley, Nick, Soren, and you've met Reya before."
"Nice to meet you all." She gives a friendly wave to the group as they enter the building. They all smile and say "hi" back.
"They've been staying with me for the past couple days, they were in town for the Magic Mike performance at the club."
"Wait, really?" She asks looking back up at them. All of them nod, pretty used to this response. "Wow. You are the luckiest person I have ever met, aren't you also dating a billionaire who looks like he could be one of them."
"Mr. Barton is currently persona non grata." Nick chimes in. "What do you say we get this show on the road, so it can be over already." He laughs picking Alexia up in his arms as if he is shielding her from the very mention of August then carries her over to the desk.
They get their forms signed and while Alexia answers a few work emails the guys are fighting over the color of their flight suits. Coming out one by one as if they are on a catwalk, coached by Reya who is walking beside them calling out different directions, then posing like the Power Rangers once they are all out. Running over, Riley bends down standing up with Alexia on his shoulders while Soren did the same with Reya so that they could get a picture before going up. Alexia is the only one still in her regular clothes as she will technically be performing a different kind of jump.
