Jungwon wasn't sure about her plan.

And he didn't seem to be the only one. Just by the look on their faces, Jungwon knew that Heeseung, Jay and Jake were sceptic as well.
Sunghoon didn't show any expression and Niki just looked at Sunoo, who seemed lost.

"What do you mean vampires?" asked Jungwon, still not believing he had actually heard the Princess say that word.

"I mean freedom" said Jayoung .

No one replied.

"I mean that if we were vampires indeed, then none of this would matter anymore. We'd be free to go wherever we want" added Jayoung. "We'd be independent and strong. But as I said the most important thing would be that we would finally be free from this castle, this life, this marriage."

Jungwon tilted his head.

"Did you say strong?" he asked again, as his brain already started planning something.
"Yes" agreed Jayoung.

"What are you thinking about?" asked Jay, looking at Jungwon.

"Well, we're marrying her to help with the war, right?" asked the latter. "If we were strong vampire as Jayoung suggested, well, couldn't we just go to battle, win and thus end the war?"

Jay looked around, a weird expression on his face.

"Guys, guys, please.. are we really discussing this?" he asked. "Vampires are make believe monsters created to scare children. They do not exist in real life."
"The whole thing seems so far fetched, it's true" added Heeseung, nodding.

Jake saw Sunoo rolling his eyes.

"Trust me" she said.

Jungwon looked around, and saw Sunoo nodding.

"If you don't know wether it's true or not, I could give you a proof" added the Princess.

Jake frowned.

"I can show you what it would actually feel like to be vampires, but in a dream, obviously not in real life" she explained. "You will however remember said dream as I wake you up."

The Princes looked at each other, and before they knew it, their eyes were closing...

Jungwon was extremely excited and happy!

His birthday had finally come and he would be celebrating with his friends that night.
He had never felt so alive, not only because of the excitement, but also because of his physical strength.
He could feel the strong muscles of his legs carrying him and he knew he could run for a long time easily.
His grip was stronger as well, and it was amazing.

How hadn't he realized how incredible his physical capacities were before that day?

Well, it didn't matter so much.

His friends would be there any minute.

The music was very loud. Jungwon had never heard such music before, and it seemed to come out of some weird black boxes. He knew he had never seen anything like that, but at the same time, they felt familiar.

To be honest, that didn't really matter.

What mattered was that he heard his friend downstairs. They were singing happy birthday to him.

Wait, why am I still up here?

Jungwon looked from the top of the stairs of the house and he saw Jake moving his hand around, thus lighting the candles on the cake Niki was holding.

Did Jake just use.. magic?

Jungwon frowned, amazed by what he had just seen. At the same time, for an unknown reason, it did feel right.
And if Jake could use magic, well maybe he could as well.
The birthday boy closed his eyes and just imagined himself standing between Niki and Jake and as simply as that, he opened his eyes only to find out he was indeed in front of them.

Jungwon blew the candles and the craziness took over.
The seven friends danced, sung from the top of their lungs, drank, and danced some more.
Jungwon's head felt dizzy, but in a very good way.

He had never felt like that before.

Jay came closer and they danced together, unafraid of being seen. There were people all around, but no one seemed to care about how close the both of them were standing. Jay was smiling brightly and somehow that broke Jungwon's heart.
He had just realized he had never seen Jay this happy, ever.

Jungwon wanted this moment to last forever.

Here, with Jay, dancing and without worries.

Without worries..

What was I worried about ?

"Jay?" asker Jungwon, but the latter didn't react.

*he can't hear you*

Jungwon gasped. He had just heard a voice inside his head. A voice he knew from somewhere, but couldn't remember where.

Next thing he knew, Jungwon was with the boys. He didn't know how much time had passed since he had last saw them. However, something in his head whispered that it didn't matter where they were when he was dancing with Jay.

They were here now, that's what mattered.

"This party is amazing" said Heeseung.
"Yeah, kinda wish it'd never stop" added Niki.
"I know!" replied Sunghoon.

Jungwon agreed. He also wanted to stay here forever, in this newfound bliss.

"Guys" said Sunoo. "Let's cheer!"

The seven boys held their glasses high and drank together.

As soon as they swallowed their drink, their eyes closed once again, and the whole world seemed to turn upside down as they fell on the floor.

"Easy, easy" said Jayoung, a hand on Jungwon's shoulder.

The latter blinked several times, trying to get used to the light.

"Where am I?" he asked.
"In the garden" replied Jay, behind him.

Jungwon frowned.
What garden?

He sat up and looked around him. The Princes were there and Jungwon slowly realized this was reality.

"What was that?" asked Jungwon, looking at Jayoung.
"You mean the party?" she asked. "As I said, I gave you a little taste of the life I'm offering you."

Jungwon could hear the other Princes talking about their own dream, in which Niki had teleported, Heeseung had used telekinesis and Jake had controlled fire.
Apparently they all had different dreams, in which each explored something they wanted to.

No wonder mine revolved around Jay then..

"Will we really be able to do all of this?" asked Niki, excited about such amazing powers.
"Of course" replied Jayoung.

Jungwon stayed silent. He couldn't take his mind off how happy Jay was in his dream. Now that he was back to real life, it had become very difficult to ignore Jay's sadness because of his royal status.

Could this new life truly offer Jay the happiness he had in Jungwon's dreams?

Cause if so, I'm signing now.
