Cursed

Jay stood up from his chair, apparently ready to smash everything around. It took both Heeseung and Jake to keep him still.

"Let me free" Jay kept saying. "I need to have a chat with Jayoung."
"I understand Jay, but we need to think this through" said Sunoo, trying to calm things down. "We don't know where he is, or if she can hurt him."

That seemed to do the trick. Jay relaxed his muscles and Heeseung and Jake let him go.

"So, what now?" asked Niki.
"Now I tell you what I heard when you guys were sleeping" said Jake.
"Why weren't you sleeping?" asked Sunghoon, frowning.
"No idea, but that doesn't really matter tight now, I think" replied Jake.
"We'll figure it out later" said Heeseung, quickly looking away from Sunghoon.

Jake took a quick breath in, they didn't have much time.

"So.. I think Jayoung is a vampire-witch of some kind" said Jake. "I heard her complaining that her spell hadn't worked the way she wanted. Originally, her plan was to kidnap Jungwon only, but she messed up."
"What does that mean?" asked Sunoo.
"I'm not sure, but I think that as she made us all dream about an alternative life back in our castle, she didn't adapt her spell right or something... in either way, she messed up and the eight of us ended up in this mansion" continued Jake.

"And then we were trapped in the time-loop" asked Sunghoon. "She confirmed it when we talked."
"Exactly" confirmed Sunoo. "And she used me to.. to bite Jungwon.."

Jake nodded.

Jungwon kept running around in the dark, trying to find a way out.

But there wasn't any escape.

He didn't know where he was, but one thing was sure, he remembered.
He remembered his grandmother, Queen Yang, his Royal bedroom, sneaking out to Prince's Park room at night, their escape plan, everything.

How come they weren't in the castle anymore?

Jayoung...

She had showed them a wonderful dream in which they did have powers.

She fooled us perfectly..

As Jungwon kept thinking about how dumb they had been to believe her, his hand finally touched something.

It was cold, and irregular.

So the wall is made of stone.

That didn't help much, but at least Jungwon could follow it in hopes of finding a door, which hopefully happened.

Jungwon found a doorknob and slowly turned it.

It's unlocked?

It was weird indeed, but Jungwon didn't have time to think about that.

He walked into a better lit hallway, which hurt his eyes, but it didn't matter. He was closer to freedom now, and he wouldn't mess it up.

He followed the light on the right, slowing down as the hallway did a turn.

"Ah Jungwon!" said a voice behind him.

The Prince slowly turned back, facing the last person he wanted to see.

"Jayoung, you witch!" he spat. "Let me free now."
"Such a demanding tone" she commented. "You are free, go ahead."

Jungwon frowned. It was too easy.

"I'll be casting another spell pretty soon, so don't worry" she added.

Another spell?

"You're making everything harder than it should be, you know?" she said. "If you had just accepted me, we wouldn't be in this mess."
"If you would just accept things as they are, we wouldn't be either" replied Jungwon, defying her.
"Yeah, complain as much as you want, I'll succeed in the end, even if I have to try a million times" she said. "I'll find a way to separate you all, break your Connection and then you'll be mine."

"Don't underestimate us" replied Jungwon with a low voice.

The last thing he heard was a terrifying chuckle in his ear.

"But then, Jungwon bit us all" said Jake.
"Oh boy" mumbled Heeseung.
"That's why she couldn't get rid of us" added Jake.
"How come?" asked Niki.
"Cause we apparently are all Connected now" said Jake.

Jay, who hadn't spoken for a while, let a sigh out.

"That doesn't change that we don't know where Won is" he said.
"Perhaps, but we know that she can't keep Jungwon away from us" said Jake. "Otherwise she would be with him, not with us."

Silence spread for a while, each trying to process the information they had, to figure out which doubt was true or not.

"She said that the spell hadn't worked again" whispered Jake.
"So.. do you think she'll try again?" asked Niki. "Like, will she cast another spell on us?"

"That does sound like her.." whispered Jay.

"But if she does, we'll probably be with Won again, right? So it isn't that bad" said Niki.
"Yeah, but she did play around with our memories" added Sunghoon. "We didn't remember we were Princes the whole time we stayed in this mansion."

"Damn it" spit Sunoo.

"How do we escape from her?" asked Heeseung.
"I think that we should wait for her to cast another spell and just pray for ending up together" said Jake slowly.
"What if she separates us again?" asked Niki.

"Then we'll have to find each other again" said Jay, with determination in his voice. "She'll bring us to Won, and together we will defeat her."
"How will we do that if we won't remember anything?" asked Sunghoon. "We don't even know how much time has passed since she took us away from Hyube."

"We have no choice" said Jake. "We will have to find a way to set ourselves free. Cause as for now, the only thing we know is that because of Seo Jayoung, we are Cursed."

The End
