Niki felt a drop of sweat slowly running down his neck. He had been working on the garden for two hours now, and the sun was almost at his zenith, which meant one thing: it was hot.

With a sigh, Niki stood up. He needed a glass of fresh water before getting back to his gardening.

Niki had almost reached the front door when he noticed it was slightly opened. He got closer and soon heard two voices talking.

A smile appeared on the young man's face as he started planning his prank. He slowly reached for the doorknob when his brain finally decided to listen to the conversation.

"So, do you agree?"

Niki recognized Jayoung's voice.

"Ye-yes"

Niki frowned. Whatever Jayoung had asked, Jungwon had hesitated to answer.

"Perfect! You can move your stuff now if you want" said Jayoung enthusiastically. "Can't wait to share a room with you, sweetie!"

Niki took his hand back and stepped backwards. He haven't frowned like this in a while. It was as if his brain had mixed several contradictory information and the result didn't make any sense.

He knew that Jungwon and Jayoung were together, and it did make sense that a couple would sleep in the same bedroom.
To be honest, wasn't it weird that Jungwon had shared a room with Jay until now?

At the same time, it did feel unnatural that Jungwon and Jayoung were dating each other, but Niki wouldn't be able to say why.
He didn't even remember how they had gotten together in the first place.

Wait...

Niki pressed the tips of his fingers on his temple. A sudden headache had appeared, as it always did when Niki tried remembering anything.

Anyway, his instincts were clear: he needed to go tell Jay as soon as possible.

Niki circled the house and opened up the kitchen door. Sunoo and Jay were casually chatting as they cut the vegetables Niki had planted some weeks ago.

"Niki!" greeted Sunoo with a heart melting smile.
"Hey" greeted the latter.

Jay looked up and smiled at the newcomer before looking back at his vegetables.

"I need to tell you something" whispered Niki, still looking at Jay.
"Why are we whispering now?" asked Sunoo.
"Cause I'm not sure being heard by anyone other than you is a good idea" explained Niki.

Now the two cooks looked worried.

"What is it?" whispered Jay.
"Do.. uhm.. do you remember how Jayoung and Jungwon got together?" asked Niki with the most serious tone he could do while whispering.
"What?" asked Jay, seemingly in shock.

A second passed and his traits relaxed a bit.

"Well, they have been together for a while" replied Jay.

Sunoo just stayed silent and confused. Niki shook his head, they couldn't answer that question either.

"Why are you asking this now?" inquired Sunoo.
"I heard her asking Jungwon if he wanted to share rooms with her" explained Niki.
"What did he say?" asked Jay.

Niki looked at him. He seemed just as lost as Niki was.

"He said yes, but with hesitation" replied Niki.
"If he agreed, then there's nothing we can do" replied Jay.

Niki frowned.

"What do you mean, nothing we can do?" asked Niki. "Aren't you the one who-"

Sunoo blinked twice, waiting for Niki to finish his sentence.

"The one who what?" asked Sunoo.
"I... forgot..." replied Niki, who had literally just experienced a brain black out a second before. "It must be my headache..."
"Just go lie down okay?" said Sunoo with a soft tone. "I'll bring you some food later, okay?"

Niki nodded.

Next thing he knew he was being tucked in his bed by some unfamiliar shape. His bedroom was quite dark, so he guessed that the shape had closed the shutters.

The absence of light did seem to help Niki with his pain, and soon he slowly drifted into sleep.

~

You remember a bit too much, don't you?

~

Don't worry, I'll correct that right now

~

Niki woke up to the sound of Sunoo entering the room. He could smell from there the vegetables soup and fresh bread on the plate, but unfortunately he had no appetite whatsoever.

"Look who's awake!" said Sunoo cheerfully. "Your food, as promised my Prince."

Niki, who was still asleep, didn't notice Sunoo's frown as he said that last word. He did see him shake his head and smile back again however.

"Thank you, but I'm not really hungry" said Niki apologetically.
"Not even a bite?" asked Sunoo, worried voice back on.

Niki looked at his roommate and caved in. There wasn't a lot of things he could refuse to that boy.

"Okay, okay" said Niki.

Sunoo sat next to him and delicately placed the plate on his lap. As Niki didn't move, Sunoo decided to take the spoon, fill it with soup and just feed Niki.

"I'm not a baby" whispered Niki as he saw the spoon getting dangerously close to his mouth.
"Want me to stop?" asked Sunoo.

Niki raised his eyes for a second before finally opening his mouth.

"That's what I thought" commented Sunoo with a proud smile.

At some point, Sunoo managed to put some soup at the corner of Niki lower lip and instinctively passed his thumb on it.

At that touch, Niki felt his whole body getting burnt. It wasn't just the headache anymore.
Somehow, he wanted the burn to continue and to consume him whole.
However, at the same time, he saw fear in Sunoo's eyes.

"I should go" said the latter, without waiting a second more.

He stood up, placed the plate on the desk and literally ran away from Niki.

Wait, what?
What did just happen?

He just whipped the soup off my mouth, nothing wrong with that

...

Who am I kidding?

...

Why did I feel the way I did from a simple touch?
Why did his thumb burn me like that?

It was so wrong.

In fact, Niki didn't even know why it was wrong.
It just was, no explanation needed.

Then how come it feels so damn good when I know it's wrong?
