Jake woke up well rested.

He had had a sweet sweet dream about Sunghoon, in which they had taken a calm walk through the woods. Their fingers were intertwined and it just felt right.

Jake could almost still taste the freedom and the bliss spreading from Sunghoon's hand.

Speaking of the latter, Jake's roommate had woken up as well, which instantly made Jake blush.
He couldn't believe he had dreamed about Sunghoon this way. He was just his roommate.

It was weird, right?

With a sigh, Jake decided to get up before Sunghoon did, perhaps to escape their bedroom before any interaction could happen.

The wooden floor felt cold under Jake's feet, but he somehow liked it. He went downstairs, and was headed for the kitchen when a door opened on his right, revealing a half asleep boy with messed up hair.

A half asleep boy with messed up hair that made Jake's heart beat five times faster just like that.

"Hi" shyly greeted Jake, smiling at the older one. "Slept well?"
"Hmm" replied Heeseung, still not awaken to reply anything else.
"Let's eat something" added Jake in a chuckle.

Heeseung's presence always seemed to make him feel weird inside. However Jake would never admit it out loud.

They heard voices nearby and walked together until they met Sunoo and Jayoung having breakfast in the dining room.

Jake didn't speak much. He kinda wished that he could have been alone with Heeseung, but it never happened in the morning. They usually ran into Sunoo and Jayoung before breakfast.

Early birds...

Soon after, the other young men joined them as well and the room was filled with chatter.
Somehow, Jake had a weird sensation of deja vu, which he didn't know where it came from.

He tried focusing on that feeling for a while.
Unfortunately it felt like the more he tried, the more it slipped through his fingers. Like when you want to say something, but can't remember the precise word.

With a sigh, the young man shook his head.

It probably didn't matter.

"Should we cook together today, Sunoo?" asked Jay.
"Sure" replied the latter.

There it is again

Jake frowned. Something felt weird somehow.

"I think I'll do some gardening this afternoon" said Niki. "I need to plant some more vegetables."
"Sure" confirmed Jayoung.

Jake nodded. Niki liked gardening after all. He, on the other hand, didn't really know what he wanted to do today.

He was kind of tired of their routine, but he didn't really know if he could think about something new to do.
Cause, they usually did some cleaning or straightening up during the morning and chilled during the afternoon.

"Want to play some chess afterwards?" asked Jayoung.

It took Jake some time to figure that she was talking to him.
As soon as he brain processed the question, he nodded. He did like chess a lot, but the other boys didn't, so he usually couldn't play with anyone else.
In fact, he hadn't played in so long that he had forgotten he liked to play.

Fortunately, Jayoung had been there and had suggested the idea and he had remembered it!

"And sorry again, Jakey" said Jayoung with a smug smile as she trapped his king once again.
"You got me" he said, with a chuckle. "I had never seen anyone using their queen like that."
"If you have it, you should use it!" she explained.
"Do you have time for one more?" asked Jake, who wanted to keep playing.

As soon as he said that, Jake froze.

"Are you okay?" asked Jayoung.

Jake didn't answer, letting her question float around in the library.

"Just a headache" he whispered.
"Oh" she replied.
"You know, I think I should lie down for a while" said Jake.
"You're probably right" she agreed. "You'll feel better afterwards."

She smiled as Jake got up. As soon as he turned around, her smile changed slightly.

From sweet to smug.

Jake had woken up from his nap feeling better.
In fact, much better.

On top of resting, he had a lingering memory of Heeseung in his heart, which he wanted to keep as long as he could.

He left his bedroom, and as if the universe had heard him, he noticed a certain young man on the library couch, a book on his knees. He seemed deeply lost in his thoughts, but Jake got closer nonetheless.

"Hee?" he said, low enough not to scare him.

However Heeseung didn't move.

"Heeseung, hello?" tried Jake again.

This time, the concerned finally noticed he was being talked to.
He looked up, only to see Jake's smile, which was so cute and bright that it almost burnt him.

"Hey" replied Heeseung.
"Are you okay?" asked Jake, sitting next to him.
"Yeah, just lost in a thought" admitted Heeseung.
"Is it okay if we talk a bit?" added Jake, unconsciously letting a not of despair pierce his voice.

"Of course" replied Heeseung. "I'm always there for you, you know that."

Okay, keep calm and just tell him.
You've had a crush on his for so long.

"So uhm" started Jake, visibly awkward. "I need to tell someone something, but I don't know how."

Heeseung frowned, seemingly confused.

Brace yourself

"Well, uhm" said Heeseung having absolutely no idea what he should say next. "Why don't you just go to them and tell them what you need to?"
"Cause I'm overwhelmed just thinking about doing that" replied Jake, now sweating.

"So, try not to think about it too much" added Heeseung.
"You're right" whispered Jake.

A second passed and nothing happened.
The two young men were simply sitting on the library couch, Heeseung's book still on his legs.

Keep
Going
Jake

Then, Jake decided to move his hand
Heeseung didn't seem to move at first. After a second, he looked down and gasped.

"Is.. is it okay?" whispered Jake.

Heeseung's heart almost stopped when he blinked and Jake's fingers were still intertwined with his.

"Heeseung, please answer, you're scaring me" added Jake.

Jake unconsciously squeezed Heeseung's hand out of fear, but the latter squeezed back.

"It's okay" he whispered. "I just don't understand."
"Really?" asked Jake chuckling. "To think that I was scared I was being too obvious."

Heeseung looked at Jake. A slight blush had colored young man's cheeks and he was smiling.

"I like you" added Jake.

~

At first, Jake thought that his heart had never been this happy.
However, the longer he walked around with Heeseung, the more he felt it again.

The feeling of Deja Vu.
