Meg was now captain of Gryffindor Quidditch team (Since James burnt down the broom shed and McGonagall was very close to kicking him off the team but thought otherwise). Her and Sirius were both excellent Beaters with Dorcas Meadows, Esther Wood and Adrian Fawley as Chasers. The previous Keeper left school so they were now in need of someone who would fill that place.

Meg blew her whistle hard, silencing the Gryffindors who had flooded onto the pitch for the tryouts,

"Megara Black," She introduced herself, "Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Today, you will put all your effort into this tryout if you want a chance at getting on the team, Is that understood?" The students nodded meekly, "Great, I'll be splitting you into groups, one for each member of the Quidditch team." She started to split the crowd into five parts and assigning them someone from the team.

"Alright! You two girls, move back to your group, Sirius has another girl on his mind!" The two third year girls she spied went bright red and crawled back to their group, Sirius smirking at them, "Good, now kick off and follow your team member into the sky."

Meg watched from below as the Gryffindors flew into the sky, becoming smaller and smaller until they were merely dots. She heard cheers from the stands, it was her friends. She kicked off on her broomstick and landed smoothly on the stands.

"You did great!" Remus smiled, hugging her. She laughed half-heartedly, opening her eyes to meet her friends' smirks. They each wore a smug expression that, obviously, Remus couldn't see as she was hugging him. She rolled her eyes and pulled away.

"CAL!" She heard James from below, "STOP FLIRTING AND GET DOWN HERE!"

Meg felt her face flood with heat as she heard her friends giggle hysterically. The blush melted away quickly, however, and she called back, "BE DOWN IN A MINUTE, DARLING!"

They all watched as James dramatically fainted back onto the grass. Meg shook her head, smiling to herself. She looked up at Laurie who was looking quite bored.

"Hey, Laurie," She said, "I thought you'd do tryouts." The girl looked to her friend and shrugged.

"C'mon," Alice smiled, "It'll be fun."

"You're really good a keeping, we've all seen it." Marlene piped up.

"Fine, fine." Laurie gave in and stood up as the girls began to cheer. Meg smiled and clapped her on the back. "Someone'll be happy about this." Meg wiggled her eyebrows. Laurie snorted as she got onto the back of her broom, "In his dreams."

"In both of your dreams." Meg smirked.

Once they were down at the pitch, Meg sent her off to join one of the groups. At that moment, Sirius flew down and landed next to her. "Who'd you bring?" He asked, eyes following Laurie's figure as she kicked off into the air. Meg didn't have to say anything. His whole face lit up at the sight of her, but he didn't speak. She smiled to herself.

"Alright," Meg clapped her hands together, "The five of you that have made it to the final test are..." The Gryffindors around her collectively all took in a deep breath, "Gladys Bernie, Alya Colten, Ian Watkins, Andy Brown and Laurel Emerson!" The five people stepped out of the crowds and shook hands with Meg. She led them over to the three hoops that were positions at one of the far ends of the pitch before her and the rest of the Quidditch team flew into the air, stopping abruptly midair so the others could catch up.

Obviously, Laurie won, and she was now Keeper. Once everyone flew down, the girls (and Remus and Peter) flooded down onto the pitch to congratulate her. Laurie was extremely happy, although she tried to hide it. She hugged Meg, then James, then, without even thinking, hugged Sirius. And it seemed as if time stopped. Lily and Meg completely froze along with the others. Sirius was too stunned to speak, just hugging her back.

Meg was the first to speak. Coughing rather obnoxiously, she said, "So, when's the wedding?"

Laurie practically fell backwards, picking herself back up again, trying to hide the smile that crept onto her lips. Sirius grinned enormously, clearly proud of himself.

"Well," James clapped him on the back, "Congratulations, Paddy! Let's drink to this!"

"Save me some!" Meg called after them as her and Laurie walked the opposite direction as them. The two walked casually back up to the castle, Laurel looking quite abashed. She ran her hand through her hair, ruffling it up.

"That's what he does." Meg mused.

"What?"

"The hair thing, but more obnoxiously." Meg said, demonstrating it to her friend. Laurie smiled weakly, "What the fuck did I do?"

"Hugged him, dumbass." Meg scoffed.

"Yeah I know that much." She rolled her eyes, "Did I mean it?"

"What kind of shitty question is that?" Meg asked, skipping a step as they made their way up the stairs to the common room.

"It's a very valid question, thank you very much." Laurie huffed.

"I disagree." Meg smiled playfully, "But If you would really like to know, I think you did it by accident, but you did stay with him the longest."

"Wow," Laurie said sarcastically, "That was helpful."

"Thanks."
