They all finished breakfast swiftly and made their way down to Hogsmeade. The wizarding village looked quite magical, with a dense layer of snow coating each rooftop. It was quite cold so they were each bundled up in several scarves and jumpers. The boys were sent off to get drinks and food whilst the girls went off to buys decorations and dresses. They agreed to meet at the Three Broomsticks at 1 pm, by then they would've gotten everything they needed.

Meg and her friends made their way down Hogsmeade, arm in arm, peeking throw windows and popping into shops to buy presents. Alice bought Frank a watch whilst Marlene and Lily admired the necklaces and earrings on display. Next the went to the bookshop where Meg and Laurie bought several new books for themselves. The shop next door, however, was the one they looked forward to the most. 'Madam Flay's outfits for all occasions' was a personal favourite among the girls at Hogwarts. It was where they bought party dresses and ballgowns for Slughorn's annual Christmas parties. Although many girls were seen in Madam Flay's, there was a decent amount of boys clothes as well

The group of girls pushed through the door and into the shop. They greeted with multitudes of fabrics floating through the air and a short, happy, round-faced woman conducted them with her wand.

"Hello ladies," She smiled warmly at them, "I'm Madam Flay, if you need anything I'll be in the store room, don't be shy!" And with that, she disappeared though a small opening behind the countered which shut as soon as all he colorful materials had followed the woman through.

"She seems nice." Lily said, running her finger down the seam of an emerald green dress.

"You know, Meg," Marlene nudged her, "You should get Remus something." Alice nodded her agreement and pointed to the men's section, "He's probably bought you something nice, go pick something out for the boy, go on!" Meg let her friends push her to the other side of the room where even more racks of clothing were. She rolled her eyes and began to look at the clothes. Suddenly she came across something very Remus Lupin.

"My dad would wear that." Laurie said over her shoulder, making Meg jump. "Shit." She breathed heavily, "You scared me." Laurie laughed, "You should buy him it."

"You sure?"

"Mhm."

Meg lifted the jumper off the rack and the two strolled back to where the others were. Marlene and Alice watched Lily twirl around in the dress she was trying on. "She's got James drooling already." Meg smiled out of the window approvingly. They all stopped and followed her gaze, and, sure enough, there James was, face pressed up against the window with Remus mouthing rapid apologies and Sirius beside him goggling at Laurie. It was a twin effort from Peter and Remus to get the boys away, and eventually, they were gone.

"That was something." Marlene wiggled her eyebrows at the two, dumbstruck girls, "Wasn't it, Meg. Meg?"

The girls turned to where their friend was standing and she seemed to be preoccupied. Meg had taken a dress off the hook of a rack and was now twirling around with it draped across her body. Laurie was the first to speak,

"I doubt that's going to be your wedding dress to marry Lupin, but I respect your choice." Meg shot her a glare to which Laurie stuck her tongue out at. The others laughed.

"How 'bout you get that one?" Alice suggested. Meg shrugged. "Try it on first." Lily said, flattening a crease in the dress she was trying on. She nodded and disappeared into the changing room. More like changing closet, Meg huffed as she squeezed herself into the gap.

Once she emerged, her friends gave her warm smiles,

"It's perfect."

"What's in the bag?" Sirius asked, reaching down into Meg's shopping bag from Madam Flay's.

"Get your grubby mitts off of it, Pads." She sneered, smacking his hand away. Sirius gave a wort of whimper and withdrew his hand, rubbing the bit where she hit. "What would you kids like?" The young Rosmerta smiled, for once out of uniform. "Hi Rosie," Meg smiled, kicking Sirius in the shins for making heart eyes at the Hufflepuff, "Nine butterbeers." She nodded and disappeared off.

"So," Lily said, sipping the butterbeers Rosmerta had just dropped off, "What did you guys get?"

"Food, Firewhisky, the standard." James said, stretching, "We got you guys g-" Remus and Sirius's hands both flew to his mouth instantaneously. Lily raised her eyebrows suspiciously.

"He wasn't gonna say anything." Remus sad quickly.

"Yeah right." Meg rolled her eyes.
