"Do you remember when Mama used to play the violin?" Miko-chan asked, her hand resting on Mama's violin case.

"Of course I remember." I said, smiling fondly at my little sister and walking into the room. It had been a long time since Mama's chambers had been opened. Papa had been so heartbroken, he couldn't bring himself to, while Chika and I never associated this room as hers- even though it had been where Mama spent the last of her days.

I looked around. Most of the things Mama owned had been put inside the room after her passing. Papa and most of the staff couldn't bear to look at the objects lying around, so they were all locked away. I had hoped that Papa would bring some of them out again, but so far, the objects seemed to have been left- forgotten.

I jumped on the bed beside my sister, surprised that she had been the first one to open the doors. I would have thought she would've been just like Papa, too heartbroken to even look within.

"She played beautifully." I said, remembering one of Mama's concerts. "Just like Tama-chan"

"I agree."

For a while, we both sat in silence. On top of Mama's performances, I was also recalling how she held her violin when she had become too weak to play. She would always have the case sitting open on her lap, the instrument looking up at her. Sometimes, I would even find her crying, tears slipping down her cheeks and fall onto the wood of the violin.

"I'm sorry I left you" I blinked at the quietness of Miko-chan's voice. Her hands were resting on her lap, her fingers tugging and pulling at each other- something she always did when she was nervous.

I understood the reason why Miko left. When Mama passed away, she had become a shell of her former self. She had grown pale and drawn and nothing I did was able to cheer her up. I believed that her leaving was her last ditch effort on getting better.

I reached over and placed my hand on both of hers, stopping her tugs. Her hands felt cooler under my touch and I looked up at her with a smile.

"It's okay Miko-chan!" I exclaimed. "You're home now, that's all that matters!" I wanted to take her distress away, it pained me to see her this way.

"No Onii-chan" My heart leapt in panic as she looked at me with tears in her eyes. "It's not okay. You needed me here and I left you" I could feel my own tears starting to burn at the corner of my eyes.
