Hi everyone!
If you've been here a while, I bet you're confused. Let me explain. I recently went back and read this chapter and cringed really hard at how bad it was. Don't get me wrong, it was a good chapter when I published it, but when I went back and read it there was so much that felt out of place and weird that I had to rewrite it.
I still hope that you guys enjoy this chapter though!
Thanks,
Crying_Happiness 💛

How did I get roped into this? I thought to myself while sitting beside Shiro. I was pulling at my fingers and looking over the centerpiece that separated us from Tamaki and his guest.
"Now, just do what I do and don't be shy, my friend Machiko here has kindly agreed to be your mock guest for today" Tamaki stated.
More like you gave me no other choice. I thought bitterly, looking away while I tugged more forcefully. I could already tell this was going to be a mess, how was I going to act like one of his guests? He was a child!
Without further instruction, Tamaki turned his attention to his guest. She was curious about Shiro and the blonde explained his apprenticeship.
"Well?" Shiro snapped, glaring up at me.
"Well, what?" I asked back, utterly confused.
"Aren't you going to talk to me?" It felt more like a demand than a question, his narrowed eyes sending a flame of anger down my back. Already, this kid was getting on my last nerve.
"Sure, what is your favorite subject?" My voice was sickeningly sweet, but the pull on my fingers stopped and I was now balling them up into fists.
"What kind of question is that? Aren't you supposed to be closer to me than this?" He asked, again, sounding demanding. I forced myself to lean in.
It felt more like a staring contest than a host entertaining a guest. Neither of us said anything as our eyes locked onto each other, Shiro's a mask of determination rather than one of flirtation. I guess that was to be expected though since he was still in elementary school
Tamaki wasn't paying attention to us, he was totally enthralled with his own hosting, talking about forbidden fruit and calling his guest a mermaid princess.
Shiro broke eye contact and stood up from his seat.
"You look more like the carp that swim in my pond at home" He spoke, pointing at the two of them. "I would never give a false compliment like that"
"Carp?!" The guest cried, tears instantly welling in the corners of her eyes.
Tamaki, to his credit, was quick on his feet. He gently grasped the girl's chin and leaned into her.
"Don't listen to him, he's just a kid." He tried to soothe, his voice coming out quick, yet soft. "You know how kids are, they can't help but be honest" He was in such a rush he didn't think about what he was saying.
"Honest?!" The girl cried, the tears now spilling out of her eyes.
"But that's just his opinion!" Tamaki tried. "I wouldn't say you look like a carp, even if you did look like a carp, you would be the most beautiful carp of them all"
This idiot.
"So I am a carp!" The girl cried again. I could have sworn I heard her poor heart shattering into a million pieces.
