24 HOURS AGO AT LISA'S LOFT:
"Lisa, who is Rosieposie? I did not mean to check your phone, but she just sent you 24 messages and three emails. They flashed at your phone screen." Jennie tried not to look at Lisa while asking. Lisa never mentioned anything about her during their weeks together, but she knows they have been communicating.
"And you know the exact numbers, huh?" teases Jennie. "Look at this, honey," Lisa said while pulling Jennie closer to her. They are on the bed busy checking their phones because when they are together, they rarely check their gadgets. They want to savour every moment. As part of their agreement, they set time to check things online. The coming days will be difficult for them because they will see each other less. Lisa needs to work on her assignment in Thailand, while Jennie will be her eyes on the ground.
"Why? What is it?" Jennie moved closer but still not looking at Lisa. She thought that Lisa just avoided the question by showing her something.
"I have noticed that you get jealous whenever her name pops up. You act differently, just like how you are doing right now." She moved her legs apart and pulled Jennie closer while the latter still acted out.
"Of course not! Why should I? I am just curious!" She moved closer to Lisa but put a pillow on her lap so that Lisa would have a hard time hugging her from behind. She gulped at the thought that times she felt jealous because Lisa stopped everything she was doing whenever Rosieposie called.
"Are you sure about that? Hahaha!" Lisa tickled Jennie from behind. She knows that it is her weakness, that part of Jennie's back where dimples can be found. She could see Jennie's face from the mirror quite in front of them, and she found it funny.
"Aisssh! Yeah! Yeah! Stop it, Lisa!" Jennie yelled and moved it forward. She finds it funny that she's jealous of someone she has not yet met. To escape from that situation, she started browsing her phone.
"Aisssshh! Drop that one first. Since you are asking who Rosieposie is, take a look at these photos." Lisa leaned closer to Jennie and rested her head on Jennie's shoulder. She wrapped her arms around her, opened her phone's gallery, and showed her childhood photos of Rosie and even up to the present. "Rosieposie has been my best friend for 15 years. She is Attorney Park, by the way. She and I are both working on your father's case and many other cases left. We went to the same school together during our elementary days, but we parted ways when she studied High School in Australia. Then we decided to try our luck at Seoul University to take up Law. Years later, we took the bar exam, and fortunately, we passed. She focuses on civil rights, family law, and corporate law. I focus on criminal law, military, and international law. That is why I became part of the Korean Intelligence Agency. That's when I first met your father."
"Tell me more, honey," Jennie replied softly this time. She liked that she was getting to know more people that Lisa was surrounded by. She wondered that out of all people., they were connected; Lisa and her. Now it's more apparent to her that Rosieposie is Lisa's best friend and colleague.
"There is nothing to worry about, honey," Lisa replied. "She and I are close, but that's it. I do not have any siblings, that is why. We treat each other like siblings from different parents. You do not have to get jealous of her, okay? Please don't. They are most likely about updates whenever she calls me or sends a message. She and the team are also helping me out here. So, smile for me now, please?" Lisa landed a soft kiss on Jennie's cheek and hugged her tighter.
Jennie smiled right after getting a kiss from Lisa. Now it's more apparent that Lisa has no other woman, too. She still remembers the first time she encountered Lisa. She knows that Lisa is a head-turner and can make boys and girls cry. "Promise me one thing, okay?"
"Go on, hon. Tell me." Lisa replied while still not letting go of Jennie.
"Have your eyes focused on me." Jennie shifted her position. She's now facing Lisa. She spread her legs on top of Lisa's legs as if she were sitting on them. "I don't want anyone else to have you. You are mine. You are just mine." Jennie held Lisa's face with both hands while staring at her.
"You do not have to remind me that, honey. I am always yours." Lisa kissed Jennie's forehead and stared at her, the kind of stare that would reflect their world together in her eyes. "My lips are only yours. These eyes are meant to look at you forever. And this... *points at her heart* you have already owned it since we met. Call me crazy, but every time I think about how you crossed my dreams every night, and now you are in front of me and with me for real, the feeling is still so surreal, honey." Lisa's voice was breaking because she felt so much toward Jennie. Tears even fell from her eyes, handling all the emotions in her heart. She knew then she was at her happiest because of Jennie.
"Awww. Honey. Why are you crying?" Jennie felt so speechless by what she had just heard. She and Lisa have had moments like this in the past few weeks they're together, but it is the first time she has seen her cry. "I do not know what to say exactly. You got me so speechless right now." She uttered while landing kisses on Lisa's lips. "Stop crying. You're just making me fall for you even more." She wiped the tears from Lisa's eyes.
"You matter to me more than anything, Jennie. I used to think that this day would not come. I thought I'd never give my heart anymore to someone. I closed my heart years ago, honey. I told myself I would never fall in love again because it brings pain. I thought that love was not really for me because of all these things *points at the folders where cases she's handling are compiled*. I am scared that when I fall in love with someone, that person might be in danger because of me and my work. But then you came. You changed all of it." Lisa held Jennie's hands and cupped them into hers.
"Awww. You're really sweet. You know how to get me, honey, not just with your actions, your word, how outspoken you are to me, and how honest you are with your feelings. Like what I told you...." Jennie kissed Lisa's hands and looked her straight in the eyes while trying not to cry. "I am ready to take the risk with you. I do not mind all the chaos we are about to face. I will be okay whether the days will be good or bad, honey. I want US just as much as the way you do."
