Chapter 18: Sad Beautiful Tragic Part 1

Jennie and Lisa got back to Thailand safely. During those hours of flight, they could discuss their plans and how they would help each other achieve their goals of catching the person responsible for Jennie's father's death and catching the group accountable for the global mess. However, one very remarkable thing was a random question from Jennie due to Lisa's act of consistency and seriousness while explaining things.

ON THE PLANE...

"Were you like this with your other partners before in KIA or even in Hanbada?" Jennie asked while staring at Lisa. "Are you hungry, honey?" she tried to ignore Jennie's question by changing the topic. She still finds it uncomfortable opening up things from the past.

"Don't answer me with another question, hon. I just wanted to know if you were this serious with your other partners. You seem to have liked your job so much in KIA more than being a lawyer." Jennie responded while looking away. She got pissed because of Lisa's reaction. It's unusual for her to change topics whenever they talk. She feels like Lisa is hiding something from her.

"I am sorry, honey. Yes. But those were a thing of the past. I prefer focusing on this mission because it's for you, me, and everyone else involved. You help me to help you so we can help the rest. How about that?" Lisa still tried not to look at Jennie while answering. She focused on checking the map as they crossed the borders going to Thailand.

"Okay, hon. By the way, I am still full. I think we still have 30 minutes left. Let me take a nap there." Jennie stood up without even looking at Lisa. The latter was left alone in the cockpit while Jennie pretended to be asleep.

"I know you want to know many things, hon. I promise to share them with you someday." Lisa whispered as she continued looking at the map.

THE NEXT DAY...

Ding Dong! Ding Dong!

Lisa and Jennie were busy preparing their breakfast when someone came in. Jennie did not go to her house because she wanted to spend more time with Lisa. She also wanted to study their plans. If she went home, her aunt would scold her for not always being around.

Ms. XOXO: Surprise! I am sorry I did not call you. Hahaha! I wanted to surprise you, so yeah! * she hugged Lisa the moment the latter opened the door.*

Lisa: What the fuck are you doing here? *she suddenly looked at Jennie, who was busy cutting some veggies in the kitchen. The latter was too stuttered when she heard Lisa cursing and was surprised by her reaction.

Ms. XOXO: Calm down! I know she is there. *entered freely at the loft and went directly to Jennie.*

Lisa: Are you following us??? *she looked confused and threw a death glare at XO*

Ms. XOXO: I am not. I just happened to see your car earlier. The valet parked it beside mine. I am here for some business meetings with "you know who." *you know who is their code for XO's boss, who always happens to scold her.* Hi, Jennie!!!! What are you cooking?

Jennie: Uh! H... Hi! Have we met before? Do you know me? *still stuttered*

Ms. XOXO: Mhmm. Yes. Lisa mentioned you once to me. *but the truth is she knows her very well because of the copies of files she has in her custody. She only knew her from photos*

Lisa: Hey! Hey! Stop disturbing her. By the way, honey. This is Xo. She's my Thai friend and counterpart here in Thailand. Xo, this is Jennie. Finally, you got to meet the love of my life and the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. *smiled and giggled while introducing the two to each other*
