Walking to school, you tried not to think about yesterday's experience. Actually, you tried not to think of anything that happened.

Your visions of a giant shadow towering over Hawkins weren't as scary as the reminder that you got into Billy's car. Nothing happened, thank god, but you still felt guilty. Billy had spoken to you before you left his car, however, and the words had sent a chill down your spine. You had told yourself to stay away from him and to tell Eddie the truth. You did neither of those things.

"Hey, beautiful." Your boyfriend smiled up at you, standing from the patch of grass and bringing your lips to his. You felt a pang of misery in your heart, knowing that you were keeping so many things from a boy that adored you almost as much as you adored him.

"Hi..." You tried to reply with a smile but he saw right through you.

"What happened?" He brought his hands to your cheeks, swaying your head and making you giggle from the random action, "Your face only looks like that when something bad happened."

"I don't have a face for that." You argue, trying to keep up the charade of happiness.

"Yes you do. Your mouth purses slightly and," He traces your pursed lips with his finger, hand still cupping your cheek, "it shifts ever so slightly to the side."

"How dare you know me so well." You squint, making him laugh. "Fine. You got me. Something... something happened."

"I knew it." He smirked, his arm sitting comfortably on your shoulder as you started your trek to school. "Is it... do you wanna talk about it?"

"I-" You took a deep breath. Stop keeping secrets, Y/N, you told yourself, "I was walking home after school yesterday and I- I kinda zoned out for a second. And then Billy-"

"Billy? He was with you?" Eddie raised an eyebrow but his arm never left your shoulders. In fact, you thought you could feel him pull you closer.

"No, not at first." You shake your head, "I don't know what happened but I think I freaked myself out a bit. You know me and my vivid imagination." You nervously chuckle and you bring your hand up to clasp his. "He offered me a ride to my uncle's and I said yes."

"Hm." He nodded, turning his head to focus on the pavement.

"And I wanted to tell you that nothing happened." You quickly add, scared you may have said something wrong. "He just drove me straight there. I didn't even talk to him. If anything, I basically got a free ride in complete silence."

That seemed to calm him a bit as he planted a kiss on the top of your head, "As long as you got home safe."

You smiled up at him, some relief in your candour. Yet, you still felt the guilt stirring in your stomach. The words you spoke that wasn't the whole truth.

"You can keep pretending, Y/N... but I know the truth. I know what you did."

You could see Hawkins High clearly now, the busy herd of students fluttering around. Before you crossed the street, you swore you could hear the Ghostbusters theme song approaching you. Eddie seemed to have heard the same since you both simultaneously turned, taken aback at the sight of three boys riding their bikes all dressed up.

Mike, Dustin and Lucas pass you, too busy enjoying their Halloween antics to notice you stood there.

"Uh are they-" Eddie pointed at them, not sure if he was seeing things correctly.

"In Ghostbusters costumes? Yep." You nodded, tilting your head at the sight.

"Do they know-"

"That no one else is dressing up?... Nope." You wince as you both walk up to the high school, the Ghostbuster cosplayers happily riding into embarrassment.
