The next few months were quite interesting. Indigo and Jasper basically lived at the butterfly mansion when they weren't training, they usually did chores to help out around the mansion, forced by Shinobu and Aoi. In the months of the butterfly mansion, they had gotten use to the others that lived there that being Kanao, Aoi and those three little children that were little helpers. However compared to the rather calmness of the butterfly mansion training was horrific. Indigo had it easier to say the least as Mitsuri would constantly give her kind words and encouragement, Jasper did not get that what he did get was multiple smacks on the head and the "you did surprisingly ok." from Sanemi. Jasper had once pinned Sanemi by knocking him over once by tripping and falling towards him. Jasper proceeded to go "you look good under me." which he got smacked on the back of the head accordingly.
So now here they were running towards the final selection area. Indigo excitedly sprinted towards it while her brother was trying to catch up with her "Indigo slow down!" he called out to his sister, annoyed, Indigo was clearly to excited to notice her brother's complaints. "Kanao!~" Indigo called out with a excited smile upon spotting the familiar girl. Kanao looked over at Indigo with a small smile "hello." she replied with her usual small smile, Kanao facial expression was a lot calmer compared to Indigo's. Jasper came to a stop beside his sister with an annoyed huff, he gave her a soft glare as she looked over at him. "Oh- sorry-" she said, realizing she left him behind a few moments ago, she didn't sound very sorry, however.
"greetings everyone." A voice spoke, Indigo looked over seeing two small children speaking. "thank you for gathering tonight for the final selection. mount Fujikasane holds demons that demon slayer swordsmen have taken alive and trapped here." the children explained. "demons hate wisteria flowers, which bloom here even out of season. they cover the mountain from it's foot to halfway up the slope. However, from that point on, the wisteria does not bloom. So, demons roam free. You must survive there for seven days. If you do, then you will have passed final selection. Now go." the children stated and off the two siblings went.
As soon as they entered the forest and left the wisteria's protection a group of demons came swarming towards them. Hunger was what filled their minds, they growled and fought with each other a vicious animal and bickered over who would eat the siblings like children. Jasper unsheathed his sword and breathed in 'wind breathing. first form: dust whirlwind cutter.' and with that he dashed forward and slashed at the demons in a fast and a agressive manner, there were thuds on the ground from the heads hitting the ground. Indigo also at the same time drew her sword, she breathed in 'love breathing. second form: love pangs' she swang multiple slashes towards the demons in the process knocking off their heads. Indigo looked at the demons as they faded to dust, she looked at them in pity before looking back at her brother. "It feels good to finally test out our breathing style!" Jasper said, with a proud smile. Indigo smiled and nodded "alright lets continue on our journey!"
Indigo and Jasper snapped their head towards a sound of a distressed sob. Indigo quickly turned on her heel to rush over to save the person. Jasper muttered something under his breath about her running off again before rushing after her. Indigo gripped her sword and came across a yellow haired boy who was running away from a demon, sobbing. Indigo's sword slashed through the demon's neck and she quickly turned towards the boy. "Are you ok-" She started before she was suddenly clung to by her waist. The guy was on his knees sobbing "Y-You saved me! you're my savior!" he sobbed to her as Jasper came up besides his sister. Indigo gently patted the guy's head, trying to calm him. The guy sniffled and looked up at Indigo "will you marry me?" he asked. "huh?-" Indigo said confused as Jasper attempted to tear the guy away from his sister "ok buddy- get off my sister-!" the guy cried out like he was getting attacked "Savior do something! get the brute away!" He cried to Indigo as he tightened his grip on her. "B*tch get up your fine!" Jasper hissed at the guy. "Don't call my brother a brute and Jasper- it's fine-" Indigo started "does that mean you will marry me!?" The guy asked hopefully. "no." Indigo said. "She doesn't even know you." Jasper said. "Am Zenitsu!" Zenitsu shouted. "Alright Zenitsu. Can you get up please?" Indigo asked. Zentisu nodded with a sniff but clung onto Indigo's arm, mumbling something about her going to protect him from the mean demons. Jasper gave a annoyed look at him but didn't bother with him. This was going to be a long seven days....
