"Tanjiro! Hey Tanjiro!" Zenitsu whined, his voice just above breaking out into a full on cry, he seems to be holding back so his voice wouldn't attract the attention of the demon. Zenitsu followed after the red-haired boy, cowering behind him.
"You'll...you'll protect me right?" Zenitsu asked through a sniffle as Tanjiro looked back.
"Zenitsu. I'm sorry but...I broke my ribs and legs in my last fight, they haven't healed yet." Tanjiro spoke apologetically almost as if he himself was at fault for his state.
Jasper walked behind them, the hilt of his katana resting on his shoulders "Why are you here then? If even your legs bones aren't even fully healed how can you expect to get to a injured person in time if they are inches away from being killed by a demon?" Jasper spoke up, he might be being a bit a hypocrite right now after all him and Indigo are still suffering from the cuts they got from fighting that demon but to him they were just scrapes compared to broken bones, only bone could slow you down from cuts while broken bones your body would be failing you.
Tanjiro blinked, seeming to be taken off guard by the question, he opened his mouth, hesitating for a moment then when he was just about to reply Zenitsu cut him off with a desperate cry "Jasper! You'll protect me, right!?" he cried out.
Jasper glanced over at Zenitsu "no." he said bluntly, that wasn't exactly the truth, Jasper wasn't heartless, he would protect Zenitsu if it came down to that. Jasper was honestly only a bitch to the poor guy because of how over dramatic his reactions were.
Zenitsu let out a panicked cry before spotting Indigo next to Jasper through his tear full eyes. He latched himself onto her, his arms wrapped around her neck. Indigo nearly toppled backwards from how he basically tackled her, she awkwardly placed her hands on his shoulders at an attempt to calm down his muffled cries. "Indigo-! Indigo! you'll protect me, won't you!? You're an angel so, so, so-" Zenitsu sobbed before somehow bursting out into more tears.
Indigo's face slowly became one of concern "yes! Of course I'll protect you Zenitsu! I'll protect everyone!" Indigo spoke, her voice wavering with insecurity, could she actually protect everyone here?
Jasper let out a slight scoff "You hear that, hearing man? Hypnotizing Pirouette will protect you." he teased lightly.
Zenitsu let out a whine at hearing that god awful name he was given by Jasper. Indigo looked over at Tanjiro while holding onto Zenitsu "uh, Tanjiro? Are you sure you're alright to fight?" she asked.
Tanjiro looked over and nodded with a determined smile "yes! As long as I can stand, I'll be able to pull through!" Tanjiro replied in a reassuring tone.
"You sound like Jasper." Indigo muttered, giving him a concerned side eye.
Suddenly a sound of tiny footsteps came running towards the group, the group looked over, it was the kids! Tanjiro's eyes widened in a panic "DON'T FOLLOW US IN HERE!" Tanjiro shouted in a panic.
The two kids had a fearful look on their faces "uh mister! Your box is making scratching noises!" the boy shouted, his voice trembling as the duo ran towards them.
Jasper looked over at Tanjiro "Tanjiro what's in that box." Jasper asked, furrowing his eyebrows which Tanjiro just seem to ignore the question.
"I said to stay near it! That box holds the thing I value most! More important in my life!" Tanjiro frantically said. Then suddenly there was a sound which made Zenitsu cry out in fear, jumping out of surprise, knocking back Tanjiro, the little girl and Jasper back while knocking Indigo forwards along with the little boy, them now in different rooms.
"Ah! Sorry! My butt!" Zenitsu apologized through tears of fear.

Jasper looked around in confusion. Did the rooms just change? Jasper felt a sense of panic wash over him "Indigo!?" he called out, hoping to hear a response of some kind but all he could hear was the crying of the little girl.
Jasper knew what he was about to say was a dick move but he was quite frantically panicked at the sudden switch of environment "Tanjiro! Can't you get that kid to shut up??" Jasper hissed.
Tanjiro raised his head "Jasper-!" he spoke in a scolding tone, slightly annoyed.
Jasper let out a frustrated sigh "Listen I'm sorry but.." Jasper took in a deep breath before turning towards the kid.
"I'm sorry for snapping at you kid, I'm just kind of stressed out right now. We'll find a way out of here then we can both find our siblings, yeah?" Jasper spoke calmly, forcing back his panic for a mere second.
The kid slightly nodded through sniffles, Tanjiro knelt down in front of her "hey, we'll protect you ok? I'm sorry to split you up from your brother. But you don't need to worry ok? Zenitsu and Indigo will protect your brother." Tanjiro cooed, a gentle smile on his face as he wiped the tears from her eyes.
"Indigo yeah. Zenitsu though?" Jasper uttered which he got a stern look from Tanjiro in return.
"What's your name?" Tanjiro asked as he returned his attention back to the kid.
"Teruko..." the girl whimpered, clearly still shaken up.
Then all of a sudden there was a sound of the door opening, a tall demon walked out that had drums on various parts of his body.
Suddenly Jasper turns towards him "Oh you're the bastard-!" he said aggressively, clutching his sword.
Pillow's secrets:
-Jasper is great with kids! Just not when he is very panicked.
-Jasper's master plan was to break down the walls before the demon came in
-Jasper so far has made multiple theories on what could be in Tanjiro's box
-Jasper despite not showing it was genuinely concerned when Tanjiro mentioned broken bones
