The two girls made their way back to their new dorm. Along the way, they wondered if their roommate had woken up yet – or if they should wake her up if she was still asleep. Jill slowly and carefully opened the door to their dorm to ensure they wouldn't forcefully wake up their roommate. However, upon peaking in, they found their new roommate to be wide awake with an assortment of kitchen items haphazardly plugged in on her bed.

"Oh, good morning," Rebecca said, surprised by the sight in front of her. Their roommate turned around, just as surprised.

"Good morning," she said with a soft smile. She walked over to the two girls and shook their hands. "I'm Sheva. Do you guys want some breakfast? I'd be more than happy to share."

"I'm Jill and that's Rebecca," Jill replied, chuckling. "Honestly, breakfast sounds great."

"Well, I've got a waffle iron, a rice cooker, a grill, and a Panini press. There's some food in the mini fridge down there so have a peak yourself and let me know what I can cook for you!" Sheva gestured to a small fridge plugged in at the foot of her bed.

"I didn't know the dorms came with mini fridges! That's very convenient," Rebecca said as she bent down to look inside.

"That's actually my own mini fridge," Sheva said as she stirred some food in her rice cooker. "I'm more than happy to share it – just don't eat the food that's labeled as my own." Rebecca sheepishly put back a sandwich labeled "Sheva <3" with a sticky note on it.

"Let me guess, culinary major?" Jill asked as she sat down on her bed.

"Well, I wonder what gave it away," Sheva replied, playfully sarcastic.

"In that case," Rebecca said, standing up from fridge level. "I'll have the chef's choice."

"Works for me!" Sheva smiled and turned to her fire-hazard cooking set up and got to work.

- About two weeks later –

Rebecca sighed as she looked down at a map of the school. She had a lot more free time than she expected to have in college. She was still undecided in her major and got all her core classes done in the morning. Basically, from noon to midnight, she was completely free. She spent this free time wandering around the entirety of the campus, memorizing every inch. She tediously traced her finger over the thin lines of the map with every step she took, meticulously memorizing every room number and calculating the ratio of the map in her head. Not paying attention to anything else around her besides the map, it was no surprise that she was going to bump into someone eventually.

"Oof!" Rebecca exclaimed and she slammed right into the chest of a stranger. She fell back and the stranger stumbled to keep his balance. Although the stranger didn't fall backwards, he did drop nearly everything he was carrying. "Oh gosh, I am so, so sorry!" Rebecca said, her face turning a bright shade of pink. She immediately began retrieving her items and handing the stranger his own.

"I should be the one apologizing to you," he replied. His voice was deep and posh. "I should have been more careful, myself." Rebecca noticed that he had on black latex gloves as he handed back her map of campus. This led her to notice that his entire attire was black. Even his small satchel and socks that peaked out from under his tight business pants.

"What's with the gloves if you don't mind me asking?" She said with smile. The two of them were at eye level on the floor of the campus hall. It was oddly comfortable there when accompanied with conversation.

"Oh. I forget I have them on sometimes." He gave a small chuckle as he took them off and placed them in his bag. Even his nails were painted black underneath the gloves. "I'm a chemistry student and tend work with some dangerous substances."
