Rebecca walked the long way back to her dorm. It never occurred to her just how far the (mostly) freshman dorms were from the science campus. Although, it could very well be the time she left. She did spend four hours at an afternoon class – an afternoon class she wasn't even supposed to be at. It was nearly eight o'clock and already dark out when she returned. When she opened her door, a very worried Jill ran up to her and pulled her into a tight hug.

"Rebeccaaaa," she worrily whined. "Where were you? You gave yourself such a strict schedule I got so worried when you weren't here at five." Jill pulled away from the hug but kept her hands on Rebecca's shoulders. Her entire demeanor changed when she saw the bright smile on her best friend's face. "Okay get in here you have to tell me everything that happened."

Jill excitedly closed the door and sat at the edge of Rebecca's neatly made and plushy filled bed. Rebecca half lied down and half sat at the top of her bed. She clutched a stuffed bunny with button eyes close to her chest.

"Well, I finally decided on major," Rebecca began to tell Jill.

"What?!" Jill replied, happily surprised. "That's great news! Congrats! What are you gonna do? Wait, no, lemme guess. Is it... nursing? No, wait, botanical studies? No, wait-"

"Let me just tell you!" Rebecca laughed. "It's, drumroll please, virology!" Jill looked at her blankly for a moment then said:

"Virology? Really?" Her tone wasn't sarcastic, just genuinely curious. "I really never expected you to want to study illnesses and stuff."

"Well, I kind of got inspired today. Oh! Yeah! You'll never guess who I met!" Rebecca sat up a bit as she began to feel excited.

"Uhm, actually, I bet I can guess," Jill replied. "Was it... a famous professor? No, wait, your counselor? No, wait-"

"It was Chris's roommate!" Rebecca interrupted.

"No way!" Jill exclaimed. "The creepy one he told us about during the first day?"

"The very same! Though, he didn't seem all that creepy to me. More so... mysterious," Rebecca said as she looked off into the distance, her mind wandering a bit. She was immediately pulled out of thought as soon as she went in by Jill throwing a pillow at her at lightning speed.

"SHUT UP!" Jill exclaimed as she threw the pillow.

"HEY OW!" Rebecca exclaimed at having the pillow thrown at her.

"YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON THAT GUY!"

"ABSOLUTELY NOT! I BARELY KNOW HIM!"

"IT'S THE NOT KNOWING THAT ATTRACTS YOU TO HIM!"

"Calm down, Jill. I don't want us getting another noise complaint," Rebecca said, readjusting the thrown pillow back to its original spot. "And, for the record, I..." Rebecca trailed off, thinking about her feelings towards Albert. Jill raised an eyebrow while smiling and said:

"Yeah I'm right on the nose. You definitely like this mysterious stranger."

"Even if that is the case," Rebecca reassured. "I doubt I'll ever see him again and this little crush will fade soon enough." Jill smiled and shook her head. Rebecca suddenly gasped and clutched Jill's arm.

"Please, please, please do NOT tell Chris about any of this. That would be so embarrassing!" She pleaded. Jill laughed and said:

"You have my word, 'Becca."

"Ugh, thank you." Rebecca lied back down and began to fiddle with her stuffed bunny again. Suddenly, she sat right back up once more. "Oh! One more thing happened today! I've decided to try out for the basketball team!"
