'You suck.'
Sideswipe wasn't in the best mood and I wasn't his best student. 'Isn't that why we are here?' I flashed him a smile. 'We are here because you forced me into this,' he replied bluntly. I sat down on the bench. 'What's the matter with you, Sides? You're so moody,' I said, taking some sips from my water bottle. 'Look, I don't see why I should be training you while you got me and I am not in the mood to train a rookie like you. We stop for today,' he announced. My face dropped. 'What...?' He turned around. 'Sideswipe!' I jumped on my feet and sprinted after him. 'But you kinda promised yesterday, and day before that day and the day before that day.' He came to a stop. 'Then I'll promise you again.' I was pressing his buttons. 'Right, I get it.' I turned around. 'Where are you going?'
I shrugged. 'Dunno.' He watched me walk off. If I can't get his company, I'll get it elsewhere. I don't know what had gotten his mind lately, but I am sure it's not my fault. Or at least, not all the time. While thinking about his mood, I strolled through the halls, towards the main hanger. I stumbled upon Jazz. At least he was in a good mood.'
'Lil'lady!'
He pulled me in a bear hug. 'Sup?' He stepped back. 'I'm fine. Sideswipe isn't. Quite moody. You'd like to hang out?' Jazz nodded and gestured for me to follow him. 'Why is he moody?' I shrugged. 'I don't known he's restless at night, maybe that's the issue.' Jazz sighed. 'Probably nightmares. I thought it was getting better, guess I was wrong.' I but my lip. 'He should take the sleep pills. They helped last time. He keeps them in the drawer next the closet.' Sideswipe never told me about the sleep pills. 'Wanna do some workouts?'
I started smiling and nodded rapidly. 'Yes!' Jazz laughed and gestured for me to follow him. Jazz was more patient then Sideswipe had been the last two weeks. I didn't want to tell him Jazz took over the training and taught me more then he did, but when I sneaked into the room to quickly take a shower, I bumped into him. He was playing FIFA. He paused his game. 'You're sweaty. Why are you sweaty?' He got up. 'I was jogging...' he narrowed his eyes. 'With Jazz...' I added.
'In the training hall...' I finished. 'You mean, training?' He snapped. 'So what? It's not the end of the world.' Sideswipe glared. 'What's your problem, Sideswipe? If you don't want to tell me then fine, but suck it up and don't react it on me.'
'It's always about you, huh?' He turned away. 'It's not about me. I asked you almost every day what the matter is you always give me a blunt reply back. You don't want to accept help and you don't want to talk. What else can I do?'
He swiftly turned. 'Don't you fucking dare to talk to me like that!' I jumped back. I had never heard so much anger and hate in his voice as I did now. My heart was pounding against my ribcage. 'Leave me alone! Get the hell out.' I stepped back. I pushed me with so much force that he knocked all the air from lungs as I hit the door. I fell down. 'Wha the hell is wrong with you!' I jumped back up. 'Sky—' I walked out and slammed the door shut behind me. I couldn't believe he just hit me.
'Skylar? You're okay?' I stopped. 'Yeah, I am fine.'
I didn't want to snitch Sideswipe to Prime and Prowl. 'You look really upset,' Prowl added. 'I'm fine,' I repeated. 'What did Sideswipe do?' Prowl narrowed his eyes. 'Nothing. He's just playing a stupid game.'
'You sound too angry and to upset.' He approached me and trapped between his body and the wall. 'What did he do?!' He repeated. I cleared my throat. 'We had an argument.' I didn't even under why I was still defending him. 'About...?'
'Is that really relevant?' I questioned. He glared. Why is everyone always glaring? 'He's not himself, okay? He's moody and he just got really mad at me for spending time with Jazz in the training hall. I thought that maybe something was bothering him, but then Jazz told me about the nightmares. He's been restless at night. Whatever it is, he doesn't want to talk to me. If you want to try, be my quest.'
Prowl stepped back. 'I'll call in Ironhide and ask if he will try to talk to him,' Optimus muttered. I straightened my back. 'What is wrong with him?' I asked. 'Ironhide will figure it out,' Optimus replied, grabbing his phone.
((Sideswipe's P.O.V))
I paused my game and opened the door. 'Hey kiddo.' Ironhide didn't seem angry and let himself in. I closed the door and sat back down on the couch. 'Don't call me kiddo,' I muttered under my breath. 'Did you ever stop calling me old timer?' I looked over my shoulder. 'What are you doing here? I am not in a good mood,' I sulked. 'That's why I am here actually.' I snorted and shook my head. 'Skylar was upset. You obviously did something but she still didn't want to snitch you. You hurt her?'
'She's always talking about what she wants,' I scolded. 'No, she's not. She's crazy about you. She can't stop talking about you either. She looks up to you and you love the attention. You're mad about something else and you're using Skylar at the scapegoat.' I snorted and laid down. 'She wants me to train her. The thought is ridiculous! I don't want to waste my time on that,' I scolded. 'She's doing actually quite good. Jazz trained her not even hour ago. It should be your job.' He sat down on my bed. 'It's stupid.' He didn't respond. I know I wasn't being fair.
'I am just tired, that's all.'
He hummed. 'Nightmares?' I groaned but slowly nodded. Ironhide got up and grabbed the sleeping pills from drawer. 'They make me woozy and I am not allowed to drive if I take them,' I muttered. 'You can sleep all day, isn't that what you love to do?' He mocked. 'Used to love. The nightmares don't make it pleasant.' He handed me two pills and glass of water. 'Take it or I push it down your throat myself.' With a grunt I took them and swallows. The pills didn't even need 30 minutes to work. Ironhide switched off the TV and closed the curtains.
'Can you stay? Until I am out?'
Ironhide turned around with a frown. 'I just don't want to be alone right now, that's all.' Ironhide laid beside me I curled up. 'I don't hate you.' Ironhide laughed mockingly. 'I know kiddo.' He looked at me. 'I thought you would come sooner,' I added. 'You would've wanted me to pass by sooner?' He mocked. 'I did.' The smile on his face faded. 'My brother is hurt. I feel his pain, my spark hurts. I guess it triggered the nightmares.'
'You should've told us.'
'I am scared to lose him and I didn't want to believe my brother is hurt. From all mechs. He's a champion, he's an ex-gladiator, he's—...'
'Alone, vulnerable, tired and worried about you.'
'You should've told us,' he added. I closed my eyes for just a few seconds. They felt heavy. I was already tired, relaxing here didn't help to keep them open. It the pills start to kick in, I will be out for the rest of the year. 'It will be okay.' Ironhide rubbed my flank quite firmly, but painfully. More comforting. 'If you say so...' I muttered. 'Don't react your anger and frustration on Skylar. She's trying her best and she's crazy about you,' he added. I gave a small nod. 'I'll make it out to her soon.' He pressed a kiss on my forehead. 'Now stop talking, go to sleep,' he ordered strictly. I snorted. He shifted closer. It were rare moments I had with him. Moments we weren't fighting each other or pressured by other mechs or humans. Ironhide has been more as a father to me than my own dad ever did. I laid my head on his chest and listened to the strong beat of his spark below before I was out.
