So basically-
After ATSFD, or near ATSFD's end, Dave becomes unpossessed somehow. But unfortunately, he was stuck to the ground, and couldn't move a muscle in his body. Besides his arms, eyes, mouth, and head.
When Bambi found out about this after he managed to find his way off the mountain, he promised Dave that he'd visit him very, very often.
And he did.
It may be really cold on that mountain, but he'd do anything to see Dave.
(Also don't worry about Dave, he's practically, no ACTUALLY, immune to the cold now.)
