" Matt. Get in the car." Nick demanded, rolling down the window. Rain pounded against the windshield, thoroughly soaking the boy standing outside.
" I'm alright." He said loftily, wrapping his arms around his shaking frame. " I might just stay here. I don't feel good."
Nick rolled his eyes. " Yeah, probably because you're standing outside in fucking minus fifteen degrees. Get in. We need to go."
Matt sighed unsteadily. His face was pale against the harsh downpour.
" Oh my god." Chris groaned, slamming open the passenger door and trudging around the car angrily. He grabbed Matt's arm and pushed him into the backseat.
    " Dude, what the fuck-"
" Buckle up, cowboy." Chris interrupted. He slid his hand across the seat and grabbed Matt's trembling hand.
" 'Bout time." Nick grumbled, indicating and pulling out of the driveway.
" For our video tonight I was thinking we could-" Chris started,  but was cut off by Matt inhaling an anxious breath.
" Matt?" Nick looked at him in the rearview. " You good?"
He shook his head, pupils wide.
    " It's the vaccines, huh?"
Matt grimaced and laid his head in the crook of Chris's neck. " It's so embarrassing. You'd think I'd be over it by now." His cheeks flamed with a blush.
" It's ok, Matt." Chris soothed, running his hand through his hair gently. " You could've told us, you know."
" Is it gonna hurt?" Matt whimpered. " I hate thinking about it-"
" Don't think about it then." Nick interrupted, pulling into the doctor's office parking lot. " It's gonna be fine. Me and Chris'll go first, don't worry."
The three stepped out of the car, shivering in the cold rain. It was really a gloomy day, with dark clouds crowding the sky and random bolts of lightning paired with rumbling thunder. Not to mention the torrential downpour.
" Hello?" The lady at the front desk surveyed the dripping brothers as they stepped into the warm office.
" Hi." Nick stepped forwards. " We're just here to get our flu shots."
The lady nodded in the direction of a line going into another room. " Just get in line. And have your health cards ready."
" Thanks." Chris piped up, giving her a winning smile. Matt stayed noticeably silent, eyes darting around the room. In the corner a woman comforted a crying girl.
Nick grabbed Matt by the arm and pulled him into line. It was surprisingly short for a Saturday in flu season.
" Chris?" Matt mumbled, pulling on his sleeve to get his attention. Nick was fumbling around in his tote bag like a mom. " I really don't feel good..."
    " What's wrong?"
    " Dizzy- and I-I can't breathe-"
" You're panicking." Chris stated the obvious.
    " No shit, sherlock."
The air smelled distinctly of rubbing alcohol, the smell that terrified young children and adults alike. A couple of stations were set up with nurses, and there were a couple chairs where you had to wait after the shot. Matt could feel his heart pounding harshly against his ribs. It wasn't necessarily the pain that he was afraid of. More like the needle sinking into his arm- the cold sting of the alcohol wipes-
" C'mon, we're next." Nick corralled the other two the open nurse who was waving them over.
" Ok, who wants to go first?" She smiled brightly as Nick volunteered and sat down. She went over a couple things and possible side effects, then gave him the vaccine. Nick didn't even flinch, but Matt averted his eyes quickly, turning a worrisome shade of white.
Then Chris went next, getting the flu shot uneventfully as well.
" Ok Matt, it's your turn."
Matt sunk into the chair, worried he'd faint if he stood any longer. The world was spinning around him.
" Nick?" He whispered, eyeing the needle. " Please don't make me do this-"
" He's a little nervous." Nick told the nurse. She smiled sympathetically.
" Don't worry honey, it doesn't hurt one bit."
Matt's stomach turned angrily. He wasn't sure if he was gonna pass out or throw up first. Nothing was making sense. The world was turning fuzzy at the edges-
" Here. Squeeze as hard as you want." Chris offered him his hand, which the shaky boy took immediately. Nick went to his other side and ran his hand up and down Matt's spine.
" Ok, three, two...one." The nurse counted down, then swiftly inserted the needle. " And- all done! How was that?"
" I-it was ok." Matt replied.
" Thank god it's over." Chris laughed, grimacing. " I feel like you broke every bone in my hand."
" Shut up, Chris." Nick laughed and helped Matt up. " Let's go wait for a while on those chairs, then we can go home, ok sweets?"
The three walked to the waiting area and sat down together.

" Matt? Matt, wake up." Chris whispered, nudging the boy lying on with his head on his shoulder. God, he felt like a dead weight when he was asleep.
    Matt's eyelashes fluttered softly.
    " Are you ok?"
" Yeah." He replied. " Tired though." He sat up and blinked blearily around. " Why are we still here?" His back ached from the hard chairs.
" Didn't want to wake you up too soon. Nick's getting the car. Ready to go?"
    " Mhm." The brothers stood.
" You were really brave today." Chris whispered.
Matt just smiled tiredly in return.
