Finding my way to you

Ch. 15

Beam didn't go to his work. He had fever. After taking the medicine, the fever reduced but he felt too weak to even open his eyes. He didn't even eat anything. His inner thoughts were killing him from inside. After Forth helped him that night he didn't go to his work. He just shut himself completely in his room. He was too afraid to even go out for his work. The loan sharks didn't contact him till now but Beam was sure they would contact him very soon.

Beam's mind took him to the memories when he first met Forth.

Beam always used go to the park near his home to clean it. He received money  for cleaning it. He also had other part time jobs. His abusive adopted father always beat him. Sometimes his father's drinking buddies also abuse him. He tried to spend his time outside his house as much as he could. His adoptive mother was not a nice mother but she didn't beat him. She died due her illness. They didn't have money to give her proper treatment. His father was a gambler and a drinker. His adoptive family had a real son, Wayo. The kid was good. He was a shy one. He always maintained his distance from Beam. But before his mother died she told Beam to take care of him. As days passed Wayo open up to him and they became friends.

When their father locked Beam in the store room as a punishment, Wayo always used to slide biscuits under the door.

But they didn't talk in front of their father. Wayo was a weak kid, he had some illness . Beam came to know about that later. Beam stopped going to school because they couldn't effort it. Anyway school was not a pleasant place for him because he was always bullied there. He had no friends except Kit. Kit always helped him when was being bullied. Kit was disappointed when Beam stopped going to school. He even offered Beam his help so that Beam could go to school again. But Beam refused. Because he knew that Kit's parents didn't like him. Kit knew Beam's situation. Although Beam didn't talk about his abuse father or past, Kit always knew. Because there were always bruises on Beam's body.

One day, when Beam went to the park for cleaning he noticed a boy sitting on a bench. He looked really gloomy and lonely. Beam really wanted to comfort that little boy but he knew that if he went near the boy , he would be disgusted with him like everyone else . Who wouldn't be? Beam's clothes were worn out and had always bruises on his body.

One day Beam saw that a ball was about to hit that boy. Beam even screamed but the boy didn't do anything to avoid the ball. The ball just hit the boy on his head.

When Beam went near the boy to check him, he realised after sometime that the boy was blind. He noticed that the boy was always accompanied by some scary looking men but they always maintained their distance with that boy.

Beam decided to talk to the boy. The boy ignored Beam but he didn't give up. He always used to go to the boy after he finished his cleaning. Beam somehow felt relieve that atleast the boy was not disgusted with him. Because the boy couldn't see him. As days went by they became close. The boy didn't tell his name, when Beam asked. The boy always gave chocolates to him. Those were really expensive. For the first time in his life he ate something like that. When the boy asked him his favorite food. Bean told him about cream bread. Because he only ate cream bread once in his lifetime and Beam found it very delicious. He couldn't effort to eat cream bread again. But when the boy told him that he want to eat that cream bread, Beam bought him a cream bread with the little savings he had.

Beam's hands didn't stop shaking while he gave that cream bread to that little boy. But the boy gladly accepted that. Beam knew that the little boy was rich.  The little boy told Beam that he was in vacation to his cousin's home. When Beam saw that little boy's cousin, he knew that time that if that boy was not blind he wouldn't even spare a glance at him. Beam knew that little boy's cousin.Who wouldn't know? His name was Phana. They were the richest in their area. They lived in a mension.

Beam always waited for the time to went to his cleaning job. That little boy never judged him like others.

But Beam knew that someday that little boy would leave him to. Beam always feared that one day he would go to the park and that boy wouldn't be there. Beam always knew that if that boy's parents found out they would forbid him to met Beam.

One day suddenly the illness of Wayo became worse. Beam took him to hospital but the hospital refused to operate him without advance money. In that time their father also ran away because of the debate. The loan sharks started coming to Beam. With the all  chaos happening around he went to met the little boy. He didn't meet him for 3 days. Before he met him one scary looking man forcefully took him to meet a woman. The woman told Beam to leave his son. The woman also told Beam that he was dirty stain in her son's image. She told him that she was not a bad woman. she would give Beam money for silently leaving her son. She threatened that, if Beam didn't do like she was saying, the consequences would not be good for him and his family.

Beam refused to accept the money because he didn't want to hurt that little boy. But when he reached the hospital that day, they told Beam to take Wayo with him. Beam begged on his knees to start the operation and even promised to submit the advance . When Beam reached Kit's home for asking help. The guards on Kit's home didn't let him in. Beam was desperately in need of money.

He begged to many people but nobody help him because people knew about their family debate.

When next day Beam reached hospital Wayo was already sitting outside the hospital. He told Beam that he wanted to go home. Wayo knew how tired Beam was. The hospital already released him to go home. The guards of the hospital refused to let them in again. Wayo was in a deep pain but he tried to smile for Beam's sake. It broke Beam from inside. He decided to take money from that little boy's mother.

Beam went to Phana's home and tell the guards that he wanted to meet the little boy's mother but the guards didn't let him in. He waited all night in front of the gate under the heavy rain.
When the morning came, a scary looking man came out of the house and gave him some money like beggar. But he accepted it with teary eyes and thank the man. The money was just enough for buying fever medicine and painkiller for Wayo.

Beam reached home with medicine . After giving the medicine to Wayo, Wayo requested Beam to hug him tightly. The night was very long. There was a storm outside. Rain was pouring heavily. Wayo head was on Beam's lap. In the midnight Beam felt that Wayo's hold oh his waist loosen but he was breathing slowly. But before the sunrise without Beam's permission Wayo left Beam for good.
