Taylor tossed and turned. The digital clock on the side of the bed showed that it was past three. She still hasn't slept properly. She and Joe had watched that one scary movie she couldn't remember the title of.

It was new and it was in Thai. Her whole body shook while watching it and she hid behind Joe when the jump scares came.

She couldn't sleep. Even if she tried, every time she shut her eyes, those God-awful parts of the movie played in her head. She was scared to close her eyes. She was scared of every slight sound that filled her ears. Even if they came from her cats.

She turned again. And again. And again, unable to close her eyes without being scared of blood dripping onto her body and looking up to see a bloody woman on her ceiling.

She covered herself with the blanket, planning on staying there until she fell asleep.

But Joe had woken up and risen from the mattress. Taylor's eyes grew wide. Shit, shit, fuck, fuck.

Nope, nope, definitely not. She stood up and trailed behind Joe. She followed him down the stairs and watched him get a glass of water.

He reached the landing where Taylor was. 'Tay? Love, what're you doing here?' He asked sleepily.

'I'm scared, Joe.' Taylor whispered, lowering her head in embarrassment.

'Of what, darling?' Joe rubbed his eyes tiredly and let a yawn fall from his lips.

'Of that movie we watched earlier. I can't sleep.'

Joe rubbed his eyes again and frowned. 'Don't be, darling, it's alright.'

Taylor bit down on her lip.

'Come on, do you wanna cuddle til we fall asleep?' Joe suggested, taking her hand in his.

Taylor nodded.

'Let's go, then.'

Once they got to the room and Joe shut the door behind them, Taylor basically leapt onto the bed and crawled under the sheets before Joe could even sit down.

Joe found Taylor shaking under the blanket. He sat down beside her and learned that she was curled up with her back turned on him.

So he rubbed her back to try to calm her down.

Taylor peeked her head out from under the covers to look at Joe with drowsy blue eyes.

'Come up here,' He tapped on his lap.

Taylor obliged and laid her head on Joe's lap. He started playing with her hair and humming "Daylight" softly.
