One-Shot Thirty: I Can't Lose You

Joe huffed as he stormed into the house. Taylor was following close behind him and calling his name. He didn't answer. He was still furious at Taylor for the scene she had caused thirty minutes prior.

They were supposed to be enjoying a nice night out, one of the first they had had this year. But no, Taylor had to go the fuck ahead and cause a scene at a three-star restaurant.

"Come on, Joe, just—just let me explain!" Joe heard her voice crack and turned to see her with tears in her eyes.

"Fine, Taylor. Explain!" Joe said, sarcasm edged in his voice.

"I—couldn't you see she was hitting on you? You seemed pretty fucking oblivious. Every single time she flirted, you'd just smile! And it just..." Taylor's voice faded into tears.

Joe's anger seemed to disappear. He wrapped his arms around her and she continued.

"I just—I just got scared that you'd find someone better. Someone normal. Someone who had a normal life and job, who wasn't followed by paparazzi everywhere. Someone who wasn't away that much."

"Taylor..."

"I'm sorry I caused such a scene. I love you, and I just can't lose you."

Joe smiled slightly. He couldn't believe he didn't know that the waitress was flirting. "I'm sorry I acted that way, Taylor. I didn't know. I love you."

"I love you too."
