Joe stood on the couch as he hung a picture frame on the wall. The first one they'd taken when they finally got the house renovated, cleaned and furnished.

Of course, it was a picture of Benjamin.

These past few months have been amazing, both to Taylor and Joe.

Taylor especially loved it, because even after everything the media threw at her, Joe stayed. And now, they've been together for over two years. It felt like he was the one, and he probably was.

If it's right, she'd definitely know. Nothing has ever felt so right.

She's been counting the days, and it's been a thousand and two hundred thirty-eight days since the second of May 2016 and a thousand and forty-one days since the sixteenth of October 2016. (The fact that these are accurate makes me feel like a geek.)

   Why was she counting?

She was counting because she wanted to know how long her days in paradise lasted before Joe couldn't take it—her—and walked out.

For Joe, it's been the best three years of his life. Well, three years, four months and, what, three weeks? He didn't know if it was weird that he was counting.

Maybe he wanted to know how long this lasted before Taylor left him for someone better.

It was strange to him that she stayed this long because compared to her, he was so normal.

---

In what they called their game room, so many games of Scrabble had been played. And won—by Taylor, of course.

Sometimes, they'd run around the place until they reached the attic, where they'd sit down and watch a few home videos from a projector, on a white sheet Joe had hung.

Sometimes, they'd slow dance to The National in the sitting room.

Every new thing that Joe did surprised Taylor, in a very good way. At times she wondered if she'd known her lover for twenty seconds or twenty years.

Once, during another slow dance of theirs that were usually silent, Taylor had spoken.

"Can I go where you go?" she asked softly, leaning her head on Joe's chest. He looked down, smiling. "Can we always be this close?"

Instead of answering, Joe clutched Taylor's waist tighter. "I love you, Taylor."

"I love you more."

"Impossible," Joe chuckled.

---

Taylor liked to play Joe the songs she'd written. Even if she wouldn't release them to the public. Of course, she'd play these on her guitar, sometimes he even videoed her with a grin, a brighter one on Taylor's lips.

The room was filled with screams and shouts of delight as everyone welcomed the new year. Taylor sat on the couch, playing a song on her guitar when the ball dropped. She leaned her guitar on the wall and looked around for Joe. He was sitting on a stool beside one of his friends. Looking very happy. Oh, and his friend was so pretty as well. Taylor swallowed and he looked at her, smiling. Taylor smiled back but wasn't seen for the rest of the party.

1:49 AM

"Taylor, don't do this, please open the door, love." Joe knocked again. But just like before, there was no answer. He knocked once more, this time trying to make it sound more persistent. "Go away, Joe!" came Taylor's small voice from inside. She sounded like she was crying. "Oh, Taylor, why are you crying?" Joe leaned on the door. From inside, Taylor sniffled and unlocked it. Joe straightened up immediately. Taylor stepped aside so he could come in. No words were spoken as Joe wrapped his arms around his girlfriend, and she broke down into tears, soaking Joe's shirt. "I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"For me, Joe. For not having a normal life."
"What are you talking about?" Joe held her at arm's length, staring into Taylor's electrifying blue eyes, which were now red from crying.
"I saw you with your friend earlier. I understand if you're seeing her or... or s-something." Taylor wiped her cheeks.
"What? Jesse? What makes you think I'd leave you for her?" Joe was puzzled.
"She's, I dunno, normal... she's prettier, not thrown hate from—from every single angle..."
"Taylor, listen to me. Listen to me. I could never love anyone more than you. You're amazing. You're beautiful. You're an incredible person, Taylor. Are you really that blind to see that I love you and I'd give you the world because that's what you deserve, and I know that I've only loved you for three summers, but I want them all."
"I—I... thank you."
"I love you, Taylor."
"I love you more."

---

Whenever they had big fights like right now, Taylor would go up to the attic and watch their home videos.

The videos comforted her because every time one of these fights happen, she'd get a feeling that this was the end. She hated that she got these feelings because she knew Joe loved her more than anything and Taylor felt the same. Actually, she felt that she fell in love with him more and more every day.

Taylor heard the little trap door open and she looked to see Joe with an innocent smile on his face, with tears in his eyes. Taylor felt guilty, knowing that she caused those tears by starting this stupid fight.

Wordlessly, Joe came to sit beside her on the wooden floor. She leaned her head on his shoulder and they continued to watch the videos in silence.

When the videos had ended, Joe looked down to see Taylor had fallen asleep.

He smiled and knew he was truly content with everything going on, good or bad because he loved her.

"You're my, my, my, my... lover."
