Jackie yawned as she walked in to the Dunphy kitchen.
"Good morning sweetie" Claire greeted her daughter as she continued to read the newspaper.
"Good morning mom" Jackie answered in a tiered voice as she sat down next to Haley, snatching the lipgloss out of her hand.
"Hey!" Haley shouted. "I was using that!"
"Well so was I yesterday when you stole my curling iron" Jackie snapped back. "By the way I like this, I might keep it" Jackie said standing up from the table.
"Mom!" Haley yelled, desperate for her mom to help her.
"Calm down I'm kidding" Jackie groaned before her mother got a chance to get into their argument.
"Girls come on now can we please just have a calm morning without any fighting" Claire sighed making her two eldest daughters roll their eyes. "What? Wouldn't it be nice to just not fight for once?" She continued.
"Yeah, yeah sorry" They both answered in unison, not sounding the least bit sorry but they both knew that the fight was over.
"Good morning" Phil happily said as he walked in to the kitchen.
"Hey honey, Hugh Grant has a..." Claire started before she quickly was cut of by Phil "I'm in" he shortly stated.
"Okay, well Alex has a cello lesson at 11:00 and junior congress at noon" Claire said trying to map up the day.
"Doesn't she also have no boys at forever?" Haley quickly added in making her older sister snort.
"Don't you have an eating disorder to attend to?" Alex quickly shot back at her sister. "Ouch!" Alex winced as Jackie smacked her over the head.
"There's a line" Jackie warned. Making Alex roll her eyes.
"I don't see a line" Luke said in confusion. This time it was Jackie's turn to roll her eyes, not even bothered to answer her brother.
"Anyway" Claire continued. "We could see the 4:00 or the 6:20"
"Oh actually that's no good I'm meeting my friend Denise for a drink" Phil said opening his yoghurt.
"Denise?" Claire said questioningly. "Do I know a Denise?"
"Yeah you know my old girlfriend" Phil replied.
"Oh my God, gross. I can't even picture you with a woman" Haley stated with a disgusted look upon her face.
"Thank you" Claire said sarcastically.
"You know dad usually when people cheat they don't tell their spouses" Jackie advised her father with a laugh.
"What do you mean by that?" Phil answered, honestly seeming puzzled. Jackie just shook her head, she wasn't too shocked that her dad was too naive to realize that this ex of his was probably out to get something.
"Did you have a girlfriend before mom?" Luke suddenly asked.
"Try two" Phil answered proudly. "Trust me I had plenty of fun in my days. And then I met you mom" he continued, clearly not thinking his words through.
"And thank you" Claire answered ones again to the insult she had received.
"So uh... I guess she travels around selling makeup for a cosmetics company" Phil said, changing the subject. "She's in town for like a week"
"You mean she's like a door to door salesman?" Alex wondered.
"If you were doing it, they'd call it a 'dork-to-dork' salesman" Luke quickly shot at her before anyone else had a chance to react.
