The last few steps Coulson ran up to the house, it had suddenly started to rain and the ground had become slippery. He tugged at his tie again before knocking on the door in front of him.
Immediately it opened and a small elderly woman stood in front of him. "Thank God you here. Look at you, you're all wet. If I wouldn't like you I would kick your butt out my house. What the hell did you do. She never slept the last days and she didn't eat. I don't even know if she's alive. Did you broke her heart?" "No I didn't or rather I hope I didn't. We got into a misunderstanding which caused us all to have trouble who to trust. I was mad and took it out on her that wasn't fair and that's knowing and that's why I am here." Lian crossed his arms. "I hope you make it up to her." "If not you can kick me out of this house I promise. She's in her room?" Lian nodded and disappeared into the kitchen. Coulson walked towards a door and stopped in front of it.

e took a deep breath and knocked. When nobody answered, he pushed the handle down and entered the room. May stood with her back to him at the balcony door and looked out. Coulson entered slowly and closed the door.
"Melin-" "Don't. You have nothing to apologize for. I have." She turned around. Coulson could see black circles under her eyes despite the room being so dark. "I have a lot to apologize for." "No you don't. Anything happened because I wasn't honest with you." "You was under orders by Director Fury." "Yes. But it still didn't feel good to lie to a .... Friend." "You were protecting this friend." He said the "Friend" a little louder and looked at her seriously.
Now she came closer to him and stopped just in front of him. "And what did it cost? I lied to you. I literally betrayed the team the family you gave me by pulling me out of that cubical." "You didn't betray anyone." "I played with your trust. I betrayed you." "No you didn't."
She was just talking. Talking a lot. Talking bad about herself. Everything she done wrong. She was even talking about Bahrain. Saying how she could to do that after what he did for her. Coulson didn't want to listen.
He was just staring in her beautiful brown eyes and she was staring back in his. He was so close to her. A little closer and he could touch her. Put his arms around her. Or maybe even pull her gently to place his lips on hers to silence her. He caught himself glancing at her lips. He wants her back. If she kept staring in his eyes like that he couldn't hold it and just would do it. But they're friends. Maybe it would ruin their whole friendship if he doesn't like him back.
"Are you even listening?" Coulson looked at her again and nodded slightly, then slowly shook his head. "I'm not going to listen to you talking bad about yourself. There is no reason for it." "But-" "Please. Shut up."
He took another step closer and grabbed her hips to pull her into a kiss.

May lost her balance and fell against the balcony door behind her. Coulson wrapped his arm around her waist to hold her tight. He waited for a reaction. He was waiting for something. As he felt her lips move against his to return his kiss, his heart began to pound. Coulson felt her fingers on his face as she reached for it. Her lips were so soft and tender. Coulson could have kissed them forever. But at some point he noticed how his breath was getting less and May also, which is why she pushed him away. "Idiot." "Wha-" She smiled, grabbed her jacket and left the room.
