Meeting May at the Academy

This plays after season 7

After the team parted, May start to work as an professor on a S.H.I.E.L.D Academy.
And Coulson is trying to start a Life where nothing happens.
But I think you can believe him when he would say. That it is boring.

May looks at the clock and her eyes fell on her class. "Alright students, ten minutes left to finish the exam." The whole class groaned and May raised her hand to silence them. She slowly lowered herself into her chair and crossed her legs. This whole professor job is just exhausting. Why did she let Coulson talk her into it?

And just thinking about Phil Coulson, he walked into the entrance of the "Coulson Academy".
His eyes fell on the clock and he grinned. The lesson was over in 10 minutes, which means he still had enough time to come to her office and surprise her.
He ran off hastily. Through empty corridors and over empty steps. Just before the end of the lesson he reached a door with the inscription.

Coulson Academy

He had to grin and pressed the doorknob.
Surprisingly, it jumped up and he looked into a tidy office. Coulson shook his head amused
"Ou Melinda, did you learn nothing?" The bell rang and Coulson walked into the office and closed the door behind him.
The first thing he saw upon entering was a frame with several pictures, awards, and the S.H.I.E.L.D logo. Below is a picture with him when they were younger. A smile crossed his face.
He dropped into her office chair and turned his back to the door. His gaze was now on a white wall and he was waiting.

May had finished her class and was now walking up the stairs to her office. On the way she passed the break room from which a professor had just come. "Ah May. Can we talk a minute?" "Actually I'm very busy."
She ran to her door and put her hand on the doorknob. The professor followed her. "It's not long, really." "No."
She opened the door. "You don't look busy." "I have to work on the exams, so yes I'm busy. Leave it."
She went into her office and slammed the door in the professor's face. "Ugh. He's so annoying!"
That's when Coulson turned the chair. "But your day will be better from now on." He got up and May looked at him in disbelief. "Phil..you are..you are here!"
She walked towards him and as soon as he realized it, his arms were around her body and she hugged him. Coulson was so surprised he almost fell backwards but caught himself on the chair.
She laid her head on his shoulder and took a deep breath. Coulson rubbed the back of her head worriedly. "Mel..are you okay?" She sighed and pushed away from him just as he began to enjoy it. "Yeah..I'm fine." "You sure?" "Of course." He smiled slightly.
May silently looked out the window with her arms crossed. "So..how's it going? With the job and stuff." "Do we really need to talk about this?" "I know you don't like it..-" "I like it...maybe." Coulson looked at her in surprise. "Phil, don't look at me like that. I just need time to fit in. It's... complicated." "I understand that. You don't have to do it. I just thought it could fit you." "But I can't stop. I have nothing else to do." "Take a break Melinda." "I can't take a break. S.H.I.E.L.D needs agents." "The academy has enough professors. And there are certainly other important things." "No. The only important things I had were you and the team. We were family. And since I don't have either anymore, I need another way to keep in touch with S.H.I.E.L.D." "What about your parents? Take care about them." "They don't care if I take care of them or not." "But you love them." "And I loved you once."
Coulson opened his mouth to say something but closed it again. "But I don't want to be alone. I want to be with you. But I can't show you cause I'm emotionless. I'm more emotionless then before. And there is now way I can express how much I care about you. Cause..."
Coulson grabbed both of her hands and pulled her closer to him.
"Melinda stop it. You just told me that you care about me." "Yeah, like a wall." Coulson laughed. "Stop laughing. It's not funny." "
Yes, yes it is. You acting like you're emotionless and you just spilled your heart out to me. And it was very emotional." "Dork." "You act like you're gonna loose me." "I already lost you." Now both fell into a deep silence. She released one hand but he didn't let go of the other.
Dejected, he looked down at his feet. "Why do you always have to remind me that I don't actually exist anymore." May looked at him sadly. "That wasn't supposed to happen."
"But it sounded like it. I know I don't have emotions cause I'm a stupid robot. But.."
He took her other hand again and pulled her close to him.
May looked apologetically into his eyes. He could see a tear in the corner of her eye.
He carefully wiped them away with his thumb and May closed her eyes.
His hand lifted her chin and his face slowly came closer to hers and she could feel his breath on her lips.
It was short and very quick but beautiful. Coulsons soft lips touched hers and then it was over.
As he pulled away, he looked at her lovingly.
"But I still know that I love you, with my whole heart." May looked at him in shock.
Now Coulson was panicking "Mel I'm sorry..I don't know why I did, I just..." He was silent as May pulled him back to her and pressed her lips to his again. It was a little longer than the first but still nice.
"I'm glad you did."
