Chapter 15 Sisters

I woke up late and by the way the sun came though my window, it was early afternoon. I got up ran a bath; I wanted to soak and text Salina.

"Hey, sorry it's been a while, what have you been up to?" I ask

"It's all good, been busy getting ready for college. What about you?" she replied

"Lots of horseback riding, full moon ritual, shopping and the beach; I will be in Forks the 12th-14th if you want to come visit."

"Oh Heck ya, See you in Forks! Love you." Salina said excitedly
"Love you more see you then." I said.

An hour or so later I headed down stairs. Melinda is on the couch reading a book she look up and roll here eyes.

"Do you ever wear anything beside flannel and jeans?" Melinda said then looked back at her book.

"Shut up, these are my comfy clothes."

"Comfy clothes, I thought those were your dress clothes." Melinda said smirking

"No, I wear dress when I have to."

"Are you all packed and ready to go? We are leaving in two days." Melinda asks

"No we don't leave for 2 days. Do you won't to go to the beach or are you going to the lab to play with blood? You have been spending so much time in the lab, hell you were gone for 4 days last week."

"No I am not going to the lab, I am done with what I was doing; let's go to the beach." She said as she hopped off the couch

By the time we got home and change we decided to be lazy and we order pizza and watched Charmed, our favorite witch show.

We got up at noon; Melinda, Aunt Nanette and I pack we were done by 2:30 we went out for burgers.

"So Melinda, what have you been doing with Dr. Harding exactly? I held my hand up before she could speak, "Explain it like I am 5 years old", I said as I dipped my fry in fry sauce.

"Well I have isolated the "wolf" gene from the boys and from you and Leah. I know why the other girls have not changed as well; they have the right gene to do so it's just not active; it is dormant. That gene is the same reason for the imprinting, to pass on the most superior genetics available."

"So how does this help Leah?" I ask

There was a glint in her eye that told me there may be trouble on the horizon.

"There is a chance I can help her out, if she is willing."

I looked at her, I knew she was hiding something, she was being cryptic.

"Good, she deserves happiness." I said and went back to eating. I would get it out of her before we left, I didn't want any surprises.

Not long after we got home, Melinda said she was going for a run, she never went for runs, so I decided to follow her. She headed for the everglades, I watched her undress and change into a black and white wolf. Her face was white that bleed backwards and faded into the black. I stood there gasping, there was more; she already used what she made on herself. Anger flooded through my body and I could feel the cold heat, I took my cloth off and changed. She turned around and saw me as I was leaning down onto all fours.

"I wasn't ready to tell you." She said

"Tell me? Oh I am easy to tell, what about Seth or Aunt Nannette? What the hell were you thinking?" I was angry

"I think about Seth all the time, I know this won't be easy for him but it is what I wanted."

She stood there looking at me wanting my approval, all I wanted to do was jump on her, so I ran and she followed. We ran for over 3 hours; by the time we got home it was dinner time and I was still not talking to my sister. Aunt Nanette didn't say anything she let us be and we left for the airport around 8pm.

The plane landed at Sea-tac at 1 am. I was expecting Alice but it was Bella who picked us up. I hugged her, what are you doing here? I thought Alice was picking us up?"

She gave me a sad look with a gleam in her eye, "Oh I see how I rate. She has something to do; we are going to meet her and the others now." We gathered our luggage and headed out into the parking lot. She was driving a Mercedes Guardian, when I looked at her she just shook her head.

"Edward," I said

She nodded. We got in and took off; she passed the Cullen's driveway,

"Where are we headed?" I asked

"To meet the others, silly" Was all she said with a smile on her face.

She turned into another driveway I don't remember ever seeing before. It wound around in the forest and crossed over the river. There at the end was a huge 2 story white and stone house that looked like it came from a fairytale. On the porch were the Cullen's, Alice looked like she was going to explode, Edward looked concerned, he was looking at Malinda.

"Whose house is this? I asked as we got out of the car.

Alice was right beside me before I got the door closed.

"Yours silly, Esme' and Carlisle bought the land and we all helped build it." Esme' was smiling from the porch.

"You want to see it?" Alice asked

"If she doesn't I do." Said Nanette

"Yes" I said, I was choked up.

Esme' hugged me, "I hope you like it."

As I stood in the front room I had tears running down my face, "I love it."

The house had an open concept with hard wood floors the color of light sand; the walls were grays with wood accents. As we walked room from room I felt overwhelmed. The kitchen was huge, it an island that had an 8 burner gas stove top; the counters were polished stone, 2 dishwashers, 3 ovens, a walk in fridge and freezer that were full and a huge butler's pantry that had every herb, canned food and dry goods known to man. The dining room, which was open to both the kitchen and living room, had a 20 ft wood table that was 6 ft wide, with benches.

There were 8 bedrooms,  5 of which had 2 full beds in each, 3 that weremaster bedrooms with king size beds and there were a total of 12 bathrooms, a living room, separate TV room, a huge library that looked to have every book ever written in it and a rec room full of video games, pool tables and air hockey. There was a fire place in every room.

As we stood in the living room, Nanette asked "Why is the house so big?"

"To have room for the wolf pack as it grows." Edward answered staring at Malinda, He was forcing a smile

Carlisle stepped forward, "We will leave you now, I know you are all tired and we have things to do." He smiled shook my hand and they all left. As Edward passed us he looked at me, then Malinda and said, "You need to talk to Carlisle."
