Chapter 10 Flavors

I turned the radio on as I headed down the road and turned it up.

"Slow down, Are you trying to kill us?" ask Melinda

I rolled my eyes; we will be fine I have everything under control." I said as I was looking straight at her.

"You're not even looking at the road!" Melinda yelled back at me. Alice stared laughing

"I'm impressed you have adapted to your new abilities so quickly. Turn left here" Alice said

I took the corner faster than my sister liked and she made a hissing sound as she grabbed the door handle. I rolled my eyes again, "Just relax."

"Ya say that to the girl who was just in a car accident."

I looked back at my sister and could feel her fear and anxiety, it tasted like burnt coffee. I sighed and slowed down "Sorry" I said as I made one more turn then came to a stop In front of the house

"Wow." Melinda said

"You have a nice house Alice I just don't like all the windows but its well built." I said

"Tell that to Esme she restored it." Alice said

"She does nice work." Melinda said.

"Ignore Rosalie; she gets grumpy with new people." Alice said as she walked up the porch.

Carlisle and Esme were standing in the middle of the room when we came in. "Welcome, the others will be in soon. Are you hungry or thirsty?" he asked as they shook our hands

Thank you but we are ok, I said as we walked in to the large living room. Everything was white and I was afraid I was leaving foot prints on the carpet.

"Arya, Melinda it's good to see you again." Jasper said with a nod as he stood behind the couch.

"Yes it's good to see you too Japer." I said as I tipped my head to the side. He was anxious and something else, desire? It tasted like burnt coffee and chocolate it confused me until Alice rubbed his shoulder. I looked between him and my sister then sent out a feeling of contentment to him and I felt him relax. I looked around the room,

"Who plays? I asked as I nodded towards the piano

"Edward and Rose do. Do you play?" Esme sounded like a proud mom.

"No, but Melinda does." I said smiling

"I am nowhere close to being as good as a vamp." she said as she rolled her eyes.

Melinda sat down on the couch as two very good looking vamps came into the house from the back door.

"Arya and Melinda this is Emmett and Rosalie" Carlisle said as they stopped next to him. Emmett had a big goofy grin on his face "I have always wanted to practice with a wolf."

Rosalie looked irritated like we were mere peasants; she rolled her eyes at Emmett's comment, and "You can take the puppy out play later".

"Rosalie!" Esme was shocked and reached out towards me, "I am so sorry."

"Rose these are our guest please be more polite." Carlisle said in a chastising voice.

Rose flipped her hair and walked over to a lounge chair and sat down. Carlisle turned towards me with an apologetic look on his face; I could hear her thought's screaming at me. "Great, Emmett has a mutt now." Rosalie thought

"Edward will be here soon so let's get started with your checkup Melinda," Carlisle said

"Sounds good." Melinda said as she stood up
