Chapter 8 New home

Monday came faster then I wanted. I knew I could not put this off any longer. Alya was ready to go before I was. The moving truck got there by 7 am and I watched them load everything that was left in to the truck. There was already a for sale sign in the front yard. It made me sad to see it. I knew Alya as right and we wouldn't be coming back here.

I called one last time to make sure we had the 2 storage units reserved for our belongings until the house was built. I had emailed Esme over the weekend and sent her pictures of the kinds of houses I liked. I talked to the relater about that property and was sad to find out it had an offer on it. There were about 20 of our friends who had skipped school to say good bye. By 10 am the only 2 left were Salina and Lacy, our best friends. We were all crying.

"I am going to miss you." Lacy hugged Alya, Salina and I hugged,

"You two will have to come visit at the end of summer when we get back from Florida."

"We will and you guys will have to introduce us to some hot Washington guys." We all laughed.

We watched as they drove off heading to school. I turned toward Aunt Nannette. She smiled.

"I will follow behind you, I still need to make sure you get there alright." I hugged her and we all got in the cars and headed out.

Alya's appointment went quickly and we were on the road by 11.

During are drive to Washington we listened to music, talked about boys and possible jobs and magic and potions.

When we stopped for food Alya was going on about her big brain stuff.

"I want to see your and Leah's genetics, there has to be a reasoned why you too both changed. I am betting she has more than wolf genes, I think there is some magic in her." I rolled my eyes,

"You think everyone has magic in them." Alya shoved me away from her and stuck her tongue out at me. As we got back in the car Alya stopped and looked at a dog in the car at the next pump. She tipped her head and starred at it. I looked at her.

"What is it?"

"I could swear he said something." I rolled my eyes,

"My sister doctor dohinkie."

"It's doolittle." she said as she gave me a stern look.

"Do you really think you can hear animals talk?"

"Moms journal said I use to sit and talk to the neighbors cat for hours." She said and shrugged her shoulders. I looked at her and smirked,

"Here I thought you big brain was your power." She through a M&M at me as I started the car.

We pulled up to Harry's and Sue's at 9 pm, Nanette was right behind us. Harry and Sue came out of the house to greet us. Nannette was already out of the car and standing next to Sue.

As I got out of the car I could feel there was someone watching us, and I could hear them breathing; Sam had the wolves out. I could see them out in the woods as I stood next to my sisters door, moving and staring; like they wanted me to see them. I could see a black wolf move in front of the others. There was a smaller sandy colored one standing behind a red brown wolf. I could hear 6 wolves out in the woods.

"What are you looking at?" ask Alya

"They are here, close your eyes and see if you can hear any of them talking?"

She laughs nervously, I can't they are not talking."

"Interesting." I said as I helped her out of the car.

As she stood up she look over towards the woods and the sandy color wolf just stared and then started walking slowly forward one slow step at a time. I look between Alya and the wolf, she was frozen in place, with the stupidest look on her face.
