Ships; Do I Ship Them?

yessss upon neither popular nor unpopular demand but rather my own boredom, I AM BACK. and this time with my Current Hyperfixation Of The Month: One Piece!!! yk I am ever so slightly scared of posting this lol. like. op is kind of a polarizing fandom.... and I don't like either sides of it.

bc like on one hand u have the dudebro fans that don't care about anything in the show other than the fights and don't see any problems with the female character designs and love bullying people, mostly women, out of their community space bc they don't think they're a "true fan"

but on the other you have the super sensitive SJWs that will find a way to criticize literally any ship ever and do stuff like idk infantilize luffy and  attack you for liking a character they think was poorly designed or has any amount of character flaws

but I'm gonna do it anyway bc I have brainrot and need an outlet to take this all out on. so without further filler that you mostly likely skipped(if there's even anyone reading this), LETS GET STARTED WITH THE OPINIONS

(oh wait wait I forgot to mention, the first few ships will be taken from ao3's top relationship tags just like in the supernatural chapter last time. ok NOW let's get started)

zosan(zoro/sanji): my answer should be obvious if you've read any of the other chapters. YES of course I do I'm a slut for enemies to lovers. these are the quintessential enemies to lovers couple, like cmon. canonical rivalry that hides a deep bond of trust and understanding?????? it's so delicious I'm licking my fucking fingers it's that good

lawlu(law/luffy): the only ship dynamic I like as much as enemies to lovers is grumpy x sunny and these two are also the quintessential couple of this trope, the poster childs if you will. now this ship is the reason I mentioned infantilizing luffy in my rant above. u say u like lawlu and BOOM suddenly that means u support pedophilia. like ????? u know that... luffy is 19... right..... the two times they met pre-time skip was 1. in sabaody when they were fighting for their lives against the marines and 2. when law was literally saving his life by preforming surgery on him. law didn't even TALK to luffy until post-time skip when luffy helped him out on punk hazard and later dressrosa(and further but that was more them helping each other). PLEASE just let me enjoy this adorable dynamic. i don't even like smut fanart or fanfic ab them, in fact I hc luffy as asexual, but even if I hadn't it wouldn't mean I'm disgusting because LUFFY IS 19. JUST BECAUSE HE ACTS LIKE A KID OR LOOKS YOUNG THAT DOES NOT MEAN HE IS. anyway. yeah I just think they're meant to be. law saving luffy's life at marineford was basically him signing his soul over to luffy bc at that point luffy decided they were gonna be friends and that's it. luffy helping him avenge cora's death made law not hate the idea of being stuck in an alliance w strawhat forever as much.

marace(marco/ace): gonna be honest I don't care ab them either way lol. I'm not gonna go out of my way to read a fic featuring them but I don't care if they're included as a side ship. that's all I gotta say lol

zolu(zoro/luffy): not really. i can respect the loyal follower x leader dynamic however. but omg their pre-time skip friendship WAS SO GOOD whenever they interacted I got so happy. them, along with usopp and luffy, and zoro and nami, are some of my fav op friendships

kidlaw(eutass kid/law): nah. I'm just not the biggest fan of eustass kid tbh... I definitely don't think he's a bad character or anything like that but just not my vibe ig. (also kid reminds me of bakugou and law kinda reminds me of todoroki and I hate bakutodo....)

luna(luffy/nami): no, I like their friendship more. also I think nami is a lesbian. i would love if she was a lesbian.

frobin(franky/robin): YES YES YES. mechanic boyfriend x studious girlfriend. pls they are so cute. i know oda probably isn't interested in making any canon romantic couples but if he was then I think I'd be most looking forward to frobin becoming canon(as it's the most likely out of all of my ships to be canon)

zorobin(zoro/robin): no, I don't see the chemistry. they should both date me instead

acesan(ace/sanji): maybe a little bit of an unpopular ship but one I really like, I saw that scene of them talking while sanji does dishes in the alabasta arc and I was like "...I know a homosexual when I see one" ace was sanji's bisexual awakening confirmed (no it wasn't actually confirmed that was a JOKE. just had to clarify in case any children were reading this)

luhan(luffy/boa): not at all. why did they have to make her personality "luffy simp" I'll never know but will forever resent

namivivi(nami/vivi): of course, what do you take me as, a heathen?? i have taste. and the taste of this ship is SPLENDID. nami living that childhood dream of being whisked away by a royal lover to be pampered and live a life of luxury and honestly good for her

luko(luffy/koby or coby): I had no idea this was even a ship but now that I know I think it's so fucking cute GOOD FOR THEM GOOD FOR THEM marine x pirate GOOD FOR THEM but I just as equally like their friendship. their dynamic in general is amazing, coby is the first friend we see luffy make in the series and he just hold a special place in my heart

lusan(luffy/sanji): no, this is another case where I prefer their friendship

sanuso(sanji/usopp): I've seen this ship so many times and I don't understand why it's so popular?? i don't have a problem with it though I don't ship it myself, I just don't get the hype of the ship

mishanks(mihawk/shanks): yes YES Y E S I love mihawk's character and his and shank's interactions in canon are so funny it's like grumpy x sunny but older

ok that's all I'm gonna do. i wanna point out though that Shipping Wiki is a horrible resource for shipping information, their regular fandom wiki sites are pretty reliable but for some reason their shipping site sucks. there's tons of misleading information, left out information, and information that's just plain wrong. like, no, the name of ace, sabo, and luffy's brother bond is not named luacesab, it's ASL. ask literally anyone in the fandom and they'll tell you it's ASL over luacesab. they also don't clarify if a ship is crack or not. like obviously luffy/meat is a crackship, please put that in the site that's entire purpose is to explain ships.
