Ships; Do I Ship Them?

sigh here we are.... again. I must once again push genshin and orv back... I regret saying I'd do them bc honestly I just make these chapters on fandoms I'm currently hyperfixated on rn, it just won't come out good if I'm not interested in the fandom at the moment. anyway why am I rambling about shit nobody cares about

so yes!! as u might have guessed(or might not have idk I haven't thought of a chapter title yet as I'm typing this) I'm currently fixated on the naruto fandom rn, cycling back to it for like the sixth time probably. continuing tradition it is currently midnight and I have nothing else to say so let's just get into it!!!

(p.s: buckle up bc like I have A LOT to say about a lot of ships in this fandom, it's gonna be one hell of a yap sesh)

naruhina: ok starting off strong, right from the get go I'm going to say no, straight up. I can maybe see how their dynamic, in a vacuum, is cute, but only ever in a fanfiction way, I would never in a million years think this ship would ever or should ever be canon. for one, kishimoto is SHIT at writing female characters, it's impossible to have a truly good romance if one or more of the characters involved isn't even a fully developed character, or a character at all. secondly, these two characters were given almost ZERO build up or screen time. There was no scenes of them together spending time as simply friends getting to know each other better and bonding, no explanation for why each of them likes the other behind surface level attraction, and their "love story" is so bland and boring it's like kishimoto didn't even try, which tbh might actually be the case

sasusaku: hoo boy if you thought naruhina was long u better strap urself in cuz this is gonna be a doozy. this ship pisses me off and confuses me to no end. where with naruhina I could maybe understand where some people are coming from with shipping them, I don't understand sasusaku shippers AT ALL. I don't get how anyone could look at them and think "OTP!!!" like..... them as a romantic couple is so rancid and toxic it's like you hate both of the characters and are just trying to get them to mutually suffer. bc WHERE in the ENTIRETY OF NARUTO does sasuke ever allude to even being slightly attracted to sakura in a romantic sense???? and also sakura, its is never once explained WHY sakura actually likes sasuke, when she's a kid is bc he's cute and edgy and mysterious and she's like 12 so it makes sense why she'd have a crush on him, but as they grow older and he continues to show her nothing but contempt and cruelty why does she still like him? I don't get it, this ship is just somebody that is determined to cling onto someone that continually abuses her and is never present in her or their daughters life and it's just sad to see

Ino/Sai: it's.... alright. I honestly much prefer sai so be aro/ace, I just don't see him with anybody romantically

Shikamaru/Temari: I'm not super interested in either of them honestly but they seem pretty cool so I have no complaints

Jiraiya/Tsunade: noooo I'm sorry, I can't get over how shit Jiraiya's character is. like why the hell did he have to ruin his character like that????? Tsunade deserves soooo much better than him, like no amount of cute scenes of them together is ever going to overshadow his pervert archetype

Neji/TenTen: I mean sure idk I support this bc I feel like TenTen deserves so much better she's has such good potential that was all just wasted. Like I love weapon masters!!!!! her fighting style is so cool!!!! I wish we were able to see more of it :( plus neji having someone he can lean on and go to that's so far removed from his family and clan troubles is like his own little desert oasis and I find that really sweet

Sakura/Lee: at first I didn't really understand it but now that I'm thinking about it I'm warming up to it. Sakura having somebody that constantly pushes her to be her best, somebody that KNOWS she can push past her limits, somebody that will always be there for her and support her and be a constant loving figure in her life is so needed. plus imagine the fankids hello??????? category 10 earthquake has just hit konoha
