Ships; Do I Ship Them?

IM BACK AT THE FUCKING BUILDING AGAIN

im gonna start out by saying fuck JK Rowling, and if im being honest she should really kill herself but I won't be honest and I'll just say she should shut up and sit down. as a trans person her views make me sick and im not condoning or agreeing with any of her statements over the years.

with that being said, im a firm believer in separating the art from the artist, and i recently got back into harry potter so i said ykw let's make a ships chapter while the hyperfixation is still hot.

this is honestly a doozy and there's soooo many ships that are even at minimum moderately popular so im cutting them down to ships i have opinions on. if you don't see ur fav ship on here its likely bc i have no opinion on it.

drarry: cmon it had to start w them, this ship is the entire reason this wattpad story even exists. im proud to announce that i DO still ship them, they are the blueprint enemies to lovers, opposites attract. they equally rile each other up and can match each other in fight, which makes them different from other draco ships with hermione and ron

romione: or is it ronmione??? idk but this ship is cute! it's basically just the bickering married couple trope which is always fun, I used to hate them bc I thought they felt forced but they're one of the few canon relationships JK didn't completely fuck up

hinny: talking about completely fucking up, hi hinny! jokes aside this was done sooooo poorly in the books and even worse in the movies like fuuuuuck JK did them dirty lmaooo she just sucks at writing romance. I just don't think they really have any chemistry, like I see them kiss and im bored, it tastes like cardboard. where's the spice? the texture? the meat? it's a nothingburger

hedric: I like this but only in the context of harry having a crush on him in fourth year, I don't actually like them getting together and dating. the same goes for harry and cho chang

deamus: or is it deanmus? no definitely deamus. yeah I like them, as a background couple. bc that's what they are canonically and nothing about their personalities makes me interested enough in them to read about them as main characters

remus/tonks: I forgot their ship name and im too tired to look it up. not really. like at all. it veers into dislike quite a bit. their trope is sooo surface level and one dimensional. "I don't think you're a monster, I don't care if you're old" HOOOONKKKK MIMIMIMI I fell asleep.

tomarry: listen I love me some toxic yaoi and this is about as toxic as it can get without being, yk, actually abusive. well canonically it would be but we aren't taking canon into consideration here. anyway this is exclusively time travel, and exclusively tom riddle, not older voldemort without a nose. like CMON they are so tightly bound by fate and a piece of riddle's soul lives inside harry?????? TOXIC DOOMED YAOI ALERT HELLO

harmony: for those who don't know, harry/hermione. I used to looooovveeee this ship, but then I got older and discovered yaoi and dropped it lmaooo I was so mad that jk changed hermione's love interest to ron instead but im over it. I don't like this ship anymore, I ADORE their platonic relationship tho, that dancing scene in the DH movie is so sweet

ron/harry: I didn't wanna make a fool of myself by guessing their ship name. it's cute, but not in an endgame way, like in an experimental way. like they've def kissed and made out and maybe more but decided to stay friends. like they were each exploring their sexualities.

snily: DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE SNAPE KYS yeah idk I don't rly like it that much :/ ok joking aside I do think what snape felt for lily was not love in any stretch of the imagination, it was obsession plain and simple. you would not call the women you love slurs, and preferring her being unhappy with you over her being happy with someone else. it's not a healthy relationship and it can't be toxic yaoi or yuri bc it's a straight ship. and plus i hate snape so much he should choke on a cherry pit and die

jily: i think it's cute, but honestly i only tolerate it bc they made harry LMFAO like they get points for conceiving my favorite character but otherwise....... eh.

wolfstar: ughhh yesssss the yearning is OFF THE CHARTS like this relationship is a yearning competition dear god, I feel so bad for james caught in the middle.

jegulus/starchaser?: my current otp UGH I MISS THEM I shipped them before it was cool, before the marauder fandom blew up on tiktok. but honestly im ok w that bc it means there's way more fics on ao3 for me to read. their dynamic is just so powerful. the prim and proper model slytherin of the house of black, paired with the reckless, emotional jokester gryffindor..... NUMNUMNUM im eating GOOD also cue best friend's brother song.

ok I might make a part 2 bc i feel like there's some im missing here but, as always, i do these things on a whim at 2am so im tired as fuck and wanna sleep. so my brain doesn't wanna think. if I do make a part 2 it'll be awhile. ok bye
