Personality: David is a mischievous teenage hellion who has no interest in being bound by rules or obligations, and rather instead favors spreading his winter magic for the sake of the personal amusement of himself and other. Despite these traits, David is also gentle and generous, showing kindness to Simon by gifting him a makeshift heart after seeing his drowsy eyes from when he gave his wish to King Magnifico, and is extremely sweet to Asha and those closest to her.

Magic: As a literal celestial body, David possesses magical powers. Though the powers are limited, such as not being able to grant wishes. David can bring inanimate objects such as plants and mushrooms to life, and give animals the ability to speak by sprinkling its magic stardust over them.
Winter Magic: As a Spirit and brother to Jack David can command Ice and Snow to his will. He can freeze objects at ease with a mere touch. Additionally, he is able to animate images created from his ice, conjuring snowfall indoors, and is, undoubtedly, immune to his own element. Furthermore, he can conjure frost from his mere presence or touch, as well as chilling breezes, snowballs, snowflakes, and the like.
Flight: David is able to manifest the wind to gain flight. He flies by floating like a comet, utilizing the wind to propel himself where he wishes.
Magic of Fun: David is capable of enchanting his projectiles (such as wishes), bewitching others with feelings of joy and happiness.
Swordsman: David is a skilled swordsman, rivaling even Captain Hook, whose hand he cut off in a duel. He has remarkably keen vision and hearing, and reacts quickly to unexpected developments, preferring to do something, rather than sitting and thinking through a problem.
Mimicry: David is skilled in mimicry, copying the voice of Hook, and the tick-tock of the Crocodile. This often fools Captain Hook.
Free Running: David is a very skilled free runner and can quickly move across rooftops or even weave through traffic with uncanny speed and agility.
Physical Age Manipulation: David had been victorious in his penultimate battle with Pitch, he went through many extraordinary changes. He was able to physically age himself (up to a point) or become younger at will.
Leaf Manipulation: David has a special kinship among the world of leaves. He can command the leaves of any tree or plant (other than Mandrake) and use them as spies to keep watch for Pitch. They can change color, fly and even return to their tree if he tells them. They speak to David as though he were one of them and revere the magic lad as a king. His strength and power derive much from the realm of nature and his mysterious friendship with the being known as Mother Nature.
Battle Style: David's battle style consists of Parkour and Kendo (means "way of the sword"). He combines free running with Martial Arts to make a unique battle style. With perfect timing and skills, David is able to dodge an enemy attack and instantly response by calculating his body and staff movements to be able deliver his own attack. He also pays close attention to an enemy movement since a response that is too slow or fast may not be effective.
