"morning mason" tristan yawns, walking downstairs to sit with us at the kitchen bench, he does a double take, actually realising that masons sitting in our kitchen. "why are you here?" tristan asks, crossing his arms. "i was crying and we watched a movie and fell asleep" i reply for mason, shrugging my shoulders simply.
"was any funny business had" tristan asks the two of us sarcastically, "the jokes starting to get old, you know that, right?" mason smiles at me, "i think the joke will forever be funny" tristan walks over and dabs mason up. i look at the two with a disgusted look on my face. "you guys are so weird"

mason and i are sitting on my rug in my bedroom, staring at the ceiling. "do you want to know something stupid?" mason asks me, his focus still on the ceiling. "i'm sure what you say isn't going to be stupid" i smile at my self slightly while replying to him.
"ok then" mason takes a deep breathe, "i made a playlist for us," i can feel my heart starting to pound faster, faster, faster.
i feel like i'm going to explode.
"really?" is all i manage to get out, hopefully i don't sound creeped out about it. i feel anything but creeped out.
"really" he nods his head before he starts laughing slightly. "what's so funny?" i ask, confused as to why masons laughing. "the way you didn't know how to reply to what i said," i start laughing now. realising i sounded completely stupid.
"well, if i did worry you with my reply, i'm really happy you made a playlist for us" i turn my head to face him, soon realising that he's already been looking over at me. "can i listen to it?" i break the slightly awkward silence between the row of us. "yeah, yeah sure" mason nods quickly, "i apologise in advance if it's cringey" i shake my head, "i'm sure it won't be cringey" mason laughs as i mock his words.
i air up slightly to reach for my airpods, "do you want the other?" i ask mason, as i place the right airpods in my ear.

dark red by steve lacy is the first one to play and i feel blush creep up the sides of my face. "this is probably my favorite song on this playlist" i smile widely, looking up at the ceiling, "tils, this is the first song you move listened to" mason turns his head to face mine as he laughs.
for the first time by mac demarco is the second song to play and i swear to myself on the inside for how much i'm smiling. "i kind mag or may not have asked tristan to tell me your favorite songs" mason mumbles a little, causing me to smile.
taylor swift, frank ocean, tyler the creator, billie eilish and pheobe bridgers are all on the playlist. i swear i'm dreaming.
we've been laying in the floor for almost an hour. to me, it hasn't even felt like five minutes.
mirrorball starts to play and i swear i almost explode. i look over to mason with a wide smile, "i lied, this, is my favorite song" he turns to face me once again. "so.. do you like the playlist?" mason asks with a knowing smile on his face. "of course i like it" i roll my eyes playfully, moving my head to rest on his shoulder.
