Grounded

“You’re grounded, for a month”

My jaw suddenly dropped. I looked at Mikoto and Totsuka in shock. They were grounding me due to what Tatara just saw like minutes ago. Darn! This lecture has gone so far already.

“Why are you even grounding me, I’m like 17-years-old now?”

“Yeah, but you’re still younger than me and this king over here. Now, go to your room”

“You have got to be kidding me”

They both shook their head before I could storm up the stairs and go into my room. Yata was sitting on my bed while going through his phone. I pushed him off and crashed on the bed. I covered my face with a pillow and screamed.

“So, they grounded your for a month, huh? I don’t get it, you’re like seventeen now but they’re treating you like you’re the same age as Anna”

“It’s better than actually nobody paying attention to me, right? You know Yata – you’re not as bad as they told me you were”

He smiled and looked at the ground.

“Seriously,”

“Yeah, I’m serious. I mean, when we first met, you were like bloodthirsty and stuff like that. But you really were different. Far from what I though you were”

He turned his head towards me. We suddenly made eye-contact. I put my hand on his face and leaned in closer. Our faces were about inches apart until the door suddenly stormed open making us pull apart. Kusanagi stood there with Anna beside her.

“Anna saw something extremely awkward between the two of you. Yata, you’re lucky Totsuka didn’t see that”

“What awkward moment are you talking about, you moron? We were just talking here?”

“Try to think of what you just did before I stormed in and destroyed the moment of yours and poor Misaki over there”

“Damn you, stop calling me Misaki”

I raised my eyebrow and looked at him awkwardly. What the heck is this man talking about? Anna couldn’t have seen that awkward moment, well if she did, she better not tell Totsuka or Mikoto about it. Kusanagi was the only one in my side over here. But still he never understood a girl like me, so he never really was on my side.

“What was the crappy moment you were talking about anyways?”

“You know that moment, the part of Yata leaning in closer to you. Oh. I think Misaki’s in love”

“I said stop calling me Misaki!”

He threw a pillow at Kusanagi before closing the door and storming back to his bed. God, this boy really hates being called Misaki. Totsuka never really did meet Yata when we were kids. Like what I said, he left when I was five, and Yata left when I was nine. So, there was a lot of abandoning when I was just a kid.

“Hey Misaki, you seriously don’t remember me?”

“Stop calling me Misaki, Kimura!”

My jaw suddenly dropped. He does remember me. I never told them my last name anyway. All they know was that my name was Hana but they never knew that my surname was Kimura.

“So you do remember me, I knew it”

“Yeah right – I remembered you. Your father threw me at the river, that’s the reason why my parents banned me from seeing you again. It nearly killed me that time”

“I’m sorry if my father ever did that. He did that to me as well, I know. But now we’re all over it. I guess Miki took the spotlight way too early”
